Like I said, I was thinking of putting my own springs, did you installed the 1.5" from Ford Racing, or u used an another after market company? BTW, the 10 surprised all the test drivers about how much better the car handles compared to the 05s. They did a lot of work on this car to erradicate the complaints of the 05s.

I got aftermarket (Sprint) springs but Ford Racing shocks, struts and swaybars.

The mustangs look nice. The new bottom end Camaro with a V6 has more horses and torque under the hood though.

Not quite 304HP for the V6 Camaro (315 for the GT), but for $22K base price it's a steal. It's 300 lbs heavier than the tangtang though

Not bad for 115HP less and a live axle. Plus the Camaro still doesn't appeal to me much in the shape. I think it looks cool, but I'd get borred with it quick. For the interior, there's no comparaison, trully grinded at the Camaro's big square guage clusters/fat steering wheel. That's me anyway.

I think some wet their pants with silly paper numbers, but it all should boil down to what u like to see in your driveway in the morning.

Frenchy, just curious - Do you have any idea how difficult it'd be to tear out those 300 extra pounds?  Or are they in the bones?

No idea Moot, I'm sure like all cars, u can remove all the seat/door panel/carpet, sound padding and put $$$ light wheels ... maybe even tubular suspension stuff? But why spend money on a brand new car to junk half of it?

Well my youngest daughter is getting a black camaro for graduation. She saw the halo lights and wanted those too. It'll have dark pink racing stripes applied by Mobile Graphics. In the fall she is off to A&M. She has an '04 mustang that she has had since she was 16. It is gun metal grey and will probably stay in the family.

I seriously doubt there is more than 50 lbs difference in the engine weights if that much. The IRS is heavier and would be some of the difference and it may be the chassis build is heavier to use the IRS. I have seen a big increase in car weight over the last few years and even the BMWs are over 4k in the 5 series. Unfathomable.

I'm still out on the new body tweaks, saw a gold 2010 next to mine a couple of days ago.  A few little creases and the nose looks a bit squished but that is purely because I'm used to mine, I still love the new ones and there is more room inside on the 10s.  I was really counting on more of a lift over the rear wheels.  It didn't come out as dramatic as I thought it would. 

My 05 now has 70k of my fat butt molded into the seat, I'm thinking I might buy a new 09.  Hard to do though, the new ones feel nice and tight, but I know every inch of the old one.

I've left mine alone till the warranty runs out.  Then I've got suspension first, followed up with brakes, then engine mods.  Another reason to keep the old one, a new one I'd have to wait on the warranty again and I want to PLAY

There's a million Steeda/Shelby/Ford Racing/Rouch perf parts that still aloow u to keep ur warranty. Hell the 500HP blower from FR will keep ur warranty.

I rented a Shelby GT-H from Hertz, right after they came out a couple of years ago.  I was in San Diego at a buddies wedding.  The car had 12 miles on it when I picked it up, and had been delivered to the Hertz the day prior.  Fabulous weekend and a good car to have in SoCal.  Anyway, ever since then, I've wanted to pick up a Mustang as a toy-car.  It'll have to wait for a while, but good luck with your purchase--that's a gorgeous automobile.

Do you realize that a bone stock $6000 2001 Z-28 will still suck the doors off that mustang, right?  My pontiac G8 is rated at over 360hp, yet it gets almost identical dyno numbers as the f-bodies rated at 305hp.  That means every one of those camaros and firebirds running around with "305 hp" LS1s are really toting around over 360hp from the factory.

Yea, styling.  And a used car will of course need work.  But you can find really nice used f-body cars for not very much money, and for just a few more bucks you can make them much much faster and better handling than any $50,000+ mustang.

On a related note, today both a hopped up supra and a beautiful brand new vette with dealer tags still on the car wanted to race me while I was driving my new G8 home from work.  I guess the word is getting around about the G8 GT and GXP   Very few things on the automotive market today are as appealing as the LS series motors, even when stuffed into a 4000lb sedan
