The article linked in the first post said that he was "hung".  Can't people keep personal details private?  Not bad for a white guy, though . . .

Well he didn't really hang himself, it looks like he was into autoerotic asphyxiation that just went to far.

Sad way to end a life.

I don't see how some of you find any humor in his death.

BREAKING NEWS:  His death is now not considered a suicide.

It is now beig considered an accident through a fatal attempt of an erotic excersise.

Take about a humiliating way to go.

We'll miss you David.  :pray

Ghoulish, I know.  But I guess for the same reason I chuckle at Darwin Award candidates.

Most peoples death are a tragic thing they have no control over.  I would never joke over someone contracting an illness or suffering an accident beyond their control.  But when you die doing something really stupid, I just don't have the same sympathy.

Kinda like I don't have the same sympathy for some bozo who is getting foreclosed on a 300k house they bought while making 40k. Versus a family who had a modest house and simply had the bad luck of both spoused getting layed-off at the same time without warning.

I'm not glad he's dead.  But, he can't expect me to be crying a river over his misfortune.  Your mileage may vary.

I am not sure you can equate your foreclosure example or something similar to a tragic death.  It was not like he was playing russian rullet where the threat of death is 50%.  There, you know you are taking a chance of dying.

His death, not that I am into bondage, I would guess is low mortality rate.  I doubt going into it he would of thought I might die from this.  It was an accident from a low-rate of risk.

<Shrug>

You describe it as a tragic death.  I would describe it as a stupid and pointless death.

You assert he probably didn't think he would die from that activity. I assert that is the whole point of the Darwin Awards.  Up until the last moments, I'm sure none of those candidates thought they would probably die from their award winning stunts.  If this doesn't qualify for a Darwin nomination, then I don't know what would.

You say it was an accident from a low risk activity.  I assert that any time you voluntarily wrap a cord around you neck and hang yourself from the hotel draparies, you are engaging in really, really stupid behavior.

If you die while engaging in really, really stupid behavior, then it is perfectly fair for us to make fun of you on the internet.  It's almost our obligation.  It's like a rule or something.  ;)

In actuality he was engaging in unnecessary risky behavior. Plain English. he was applying for a Darwin Award. Other than the fact he has already procreated, he did qualify for it. All he lacked was the requisite, "hold my beer" or "you ain't never seen this before" to make it official.

He died doing something totally unnecessary and stupid. That qualifies for commenting.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Have to agree with Wab there, it's not like the guy died of a heart attack in his sleep, that would be something that you wouldn't find humor in, but when you die with a cord tied around your neck & your neither regions you've opened yourself up to it, but don't get me wrong, I think it's sad that he's dead, and I feel very sorry for his friends & family.

Now I don't know what to think, I was just reading on TMZ that his death may have been foul play, there saying that his hands may have been immobilized behind his back.  So either he was just really good at tieing his hands behind his back, or there was someone else with him that took it to far.
