Getting ready to send out preliminary orders for the allied side now. Thinking I should wait until this is resolved? My objectives say I can launch at any carrier group and have to defend them all.

The list I have is: Defend fleets 16,17,18,19, 28,29,30,31, 40 and 41.

Be careful with what you post so that you don't accidentally leak the axis objectives.  :salute

Not that the objectives are all that hard to figure out considering the Allies already know which targets are being attacked....
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

i think im about ready to send axis orders out

i might not have time, or ever even find out what cv's belong to the axis to redo the orders before friday so we might just have to go "use whatever cv is closest to your target" or something like that..

I suppose it would work just fine actually..

No need to rush the orders kvuo75. If baumer has'nt contacted you, then it would be ok to be late with the orders in this circumstance. Look for Daddog, he could help you with the situation.
If your a lil late with the orders, it would be understood,  if the objectives were misleading... Tuk151

Baumer, Are you out there?????? :

Doesn't it show the usual sector grids where they're supposed to be?

I think that's what is so confusing. The IJN objectives have us also launching from those same carrier's.

I can see that being a little confusing to a 1st time CiC or anyone for that matter :x
It would make an interesting battle if everyone was taking off from the same carriers.  No one could shoot because of friendly fire but once airborne the Zeeks would make quick mincemeat out of the Hellcats.

It is confusing. Unfortunately Baumer who is never afk, is just that. :(

Drano I am confidant you do have to defend them all and you can roll from any of them. Feel free to send them out. If I am wrong I will bite the bullet. ;)

I don’t have the orders for both sides so Kuvo and I took it as far as we could. All he needs is what CV’s he can take off from.

In the future I will ask the Admin CM’s to send me both sets to avoid these kinds of situations. In fact I used to do it that way, but since I just stepped aboard I am behind the curve. :)

But I think the problem is who has what carrier groups. My objectives show that I have 10 and have all of those to defend. His apparently show all of those 10 plus two more. So does he have just the two and it's a typo or are some of the 10 his and not mine? That's the confusing part. So I'm still not gonna send em til that gets answered. I can edit things easy enough if need be. It's not like the mission itself is overly complicated (see my abbreviated version LOL).

If you could do me one ginormous favor could you load the bigocean terrain into SEA1? I for some strange reason don't seem to have that one and I'm sure others might not as well. The Coral Sea terrain is in there now. Thanks.

I believe there are 10 CVs to defend/launch from, but there will be 2 held in reserve that cannot be attacked to allow recovery operations for defense operations.  But Baumer is now online and should be clearing this up shortly.

Gents,

Just so we are all on the same page. Here will be the correct layout.

IJN CVs are listed in the top left and also arranged about how they will be Friday night just outside the red border.

American CV's are in the blue containment areas which they have to defend.

I apologize for the confusion. Baumer had some real life issues come up and he sent me this afternoon what was needed. I will send the CiC’s the maps via e-mail also.

If you want a larger more detailed image you can download it here.

The green carrier groups are off-limit, correct?
