My memory isn't so good, but I don't think the 383rd ever got into P38Ls. From what I remember they transitioned to P51s before the L became available.

I'd have to double check my books when I get home to be sure, maybe someone else knows more than I do.

Del,

Its a themed conflict.
I only try to add a little historical setting
by using WWII squadron designations.

But this is all very loose and is only intended
to create a context and promote the theme,
not recreate history.

question for 96Delta
if greric was to up an opposing mission what do you think would be a fitting aircraft/s to do it in to keep the theme? Pacific, Europe, mediteranian etc.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

I would like to see Fw190 and Bf109 variants as this is
themed to be in the ETO.  Me262's are also okay
but we generally slaughter them so if they want to
sacrifice their perkies, thats fine with us. ;)

What bugs me though is seeing Tempests and Ponies
attacking B-17's.  Serious killjoy effect then... :(

As far as joint Missions-of-the-Month go,
GREric and I have actually begun work on a joint MoM
that would pit the Bishop MoM against the Rook MoM.
Depending on participation levels next week, maybe
the August MoM could be the joint one.  ;)

With respect to cobbling together a mission specifically
to confront ours, that would be sweet and very
in line with the theme.  I hope the Bishops will cooperate
with your efforts Eric.   :salute :D

Alright....I hope we go after the bish...there a bunch of softies  :rock

My intention is to target the Bishops, especially in light
of GREric's intention to organize some historically-themed
opposition.  This is all contigent on the map and our
strategic positions of course.
