Quick question for FSO Staff concerning tonights frame
« on: July 24, 2009, 11:08:25 AM »
Can the Japanese pilots re-arm on the recovery CVs?  Or are they for landing and towering only?

Thanks  :salute

My apologies if this was answered somewhere else already, quick search didn't turn it up.  But, my search-fu is weak.

So far as I know, rearming is always allowed at any friendly base unless explicitly forbidden in the rules.  The real question is, will you have time for a 2nd sortie?

I believe the objectives state the recovery CVs are for landing only.  They are there to be a safe place to land in case all of the in-action carriers in your area are destroyed.

forHIM has it right.  I've read and been told as soon as you land on a recovery CV (they are behind the main CV groups and are not targets), your night is over.

I thought I had read that somewhere, but a quick look didn't find it.  Thanks for confirming my slipping memory.

Do you have this in writing? I do not see it in any of the 3 frames objectives.

Oh!  Well, I think we need a CM to speak up then.

You would have to refer to the Axis objectives.  The allied objectives do not address it because our carriers will not be attacked and will be there.
On frame 1 the allied objectives noted that the recovery CV's were for landing only and you couldn't re-up. :salute

axis frame 3 objectives do not say anything about "not" being able to use the recovery cv's to rearm. Therefor I will take that as a yes to being able to rearm from the recovery cv's. However, I do agree with this question.

" will you have time for a 2nd sortie?"

In the last frame I wondered the same thing, but did not see anything except the word "recovery" which I took to mean no land and re-up. As for time for another sortie, the axis is on defense not offense.

the "recovery" carrier is for landing only. If you wish to rearm land at another CV.

The reason behind the recovery CV was to give each side a guaranteed place to land before the end of the frame.

Thanks Baumer, I was pretty certain that that was the case.  Just wanted to make certain.  :salute
