ok

The TSR2 the greatest plane never to be put into production .
Climb rated 50,000 ftpm initial rate

max ceiling:                       60,000ft
max speed at 50,000:        Mach 2.4
max speed at sea level:     Mach 1.2

rang:                             1,500NM with 1 stand off Cruses missile or 3,000lb of conventional bombs
                                    or
2,300NM with 1,500 lb of conventional bombs and external drop tanks

would have been first strike aircraft to use terrain following radar for low level incursions . Side looking radar for recon role . plus it looked great in white or RAF camouflage options

Hm, B3YT, the BAC TSR2 reminds me of another amazing plane that never entered service....
This one was cancelled in 1959; 6 of which were built before cancellation.

Built in Canada, the plane's got very similar performance characteristics to the TSR2. The Avro Arrow carried an assortment of air-to-air missles all internally, thereby allowing it to fly past Mach 2 and still carry a full weapons load.

I just cannot pick one overall...

Pre WWII:

Gotha Bomber:

WWII: It's a toss up between several, but the plane that truly agrees with me, the plane that makes me feel like I belong in it, that I seem to have a bizarre emotional connection with, is only the Bf-109.

And then, there is the gorgeous B-17F:

Korean War, its the F-86 but there are too many pictures there.

Vietnam, no question, the F-4:

Modern day, it's a toss-up between the A-10:

Or the MiG 1.44:

But, at the end of the day, it always, ALWAYS, comes back to mein Messerschmitt:

It is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

It is not in the game but the most beautiful aircraft by far.
