Ostie or Wirblewind?
« on: August 24, 2009, 09:29:24 PM »
Which one do you prefer to use if your base is getting vulched?

My favorite is the Ostie.

I love the extra range you get with th 37 mm.

In fact just a few minutes ago i sniped a 262 from 1k away with the ostie.

Its just so fun to rip the tail off a vulching 51 from over 1k away.

So, Which do you prefer?

If the vulch is really going I prefer the Wirb.  For defending V-bases and airfields against bombers and guys doing lazy circles around the field I prefer the osti.
To each their pwn.

I suck in both, the only time when I can kill something in a wirble or ostie is when they are going right at me (or it's just my lucky day) so I would rather take a fighter from a distant base.

Yet no one complained about the osti as much as they do the wirble.

Because it's still harder to hit with the Ostie.

But both vehicle turret's are rotating with the same speed. Which is about double the real life one.

I think one of the reasons why the Wirbel is much more effective in here compared to the Ostie is, that Pilots in here are MUCH more reckless than their real life counterparts. They fly much closer to known ack positions and with much less considerations about their safety. If jabos here would keep more than 1-1.5 k distance when dropping bombs, the Wirbel would be quite useless.

Nailed that one for sure...but will HTC ever fix the Osti and Wirble rotation speed (and wirble's unlimited spray of 3K rounds?)

Well we have gone over the wirble being inaccurate plenty of times, and didn't the Ost/Wirb use the same chassis?
