osti everytime just because i have more luck with the big rounds (using the Zazen trademark lead technique) and can reach further.

I believe that LTAR is the only squad that has mastered the Osti on a squad level.   I think that 95% of the time that folks in general up a flak, it is a Wirbelwind.

The LTAR's do seem to be a dying breed, however.   One does not see many of them online anymore.

I shoot them both well... But need trigger time in whichever one I'm using...
Leads and aimpoints don't transfer between them, so for me, switching back and forth is the worst thing!!!
Pick one, and stick with it!!!  But either is deadly!!!

ostie!

which reminds me.. it is rather tiresome hearing "you cant hit him that far out" from a countryman in a wirble, when one is sitting in an ostie... shootin at somethin 1.5 or 2k out...

Ostie is good for higher targets of course, nailing lancs easily. Wirblewind for those foolish strafers that have to try. I'll up an ostwind when I see alot of freindly WW. Good to have a mix of both.

I always wanted to fight an impossible battle against incredible odds.

Which one do you prefer to use if your base is getting vulched?

My favorite is the Ostie.

I love the extra range you get with th 37 mm.

In fact just a few minutes ago i sniped a 262 from 1k away with the ostie.

Its just so fun to rip the tail off a vulching 51 from over 1k away.

So, Which do you prefer?

YAKNOW......

i never thought to try the osti. i've almost always upped an m16 or a wribel

I usually up a Wirbelwind because I'm a lousy shot. Nothing more fun than killing "fighter" guys on the deck who are using their ACM skills to shoot a guy trying to take off.

I do like the Osti's one hit one kill capabilities but it's kinda like hitting a crow with a deer rifle. I ain't got the touch.

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

I suck in both, the only time when I can kill something in a wirble or ostie is when they are going right at me (or it's just my lucky day) so I would rather take a fighter from a distant base.

Ditto, the magic that some people have with those simply eludes me.

I use the M-16. It is faster, and the 4 .50 cals can saw through a plane plenty fast for me. Plus, it doesn't mess up my gunnery like the Wirblewind does.

Both work good for me the WW is my fav. However watching a 20mm round hit an aluminum airplane and do no damage lately is starting to make me wander who turned the damage down. I come to this conclusion after running a solid stream of 20mm's from nose to tail on 300ft lancs and all it did was cause one engine to smoke.
