ever heard of "game face"?  not much different, some people get their competition kicked up a notch with some antagonistic behavior from the parties involved.  :aok

Mark...people who have to "amp' up their own skillz by antagonizing their opponent are already weak...the fact they are willing to go to levels that their opponent won't stoop too doesn't excuse their bad behavior.

Also...did you know a lot of ww2 pilots who could "smacktalk" their opponents????  From someone who claims they want the "pure" game...you seem to want to throw out the rule book when it comes to personal conduct and treating others with dignity.  Yes...you know I feel you cheapen the game and its experience with your MA behavior. (on the privtae side i consider you a friend and we have enjoyed many private conversations)

If you feel the need to reduce AH2 to a highschool football game then so be it...I just won't be giving any kudos to you for it.... :salute

Maybe I am not cool enough to be able to respect "smacktalking"....but its a place I'm okay being in...

Smacktalking is for idiots...I don't care if you are doing it to solve "world hunger" or "make the world a better place"...

This is a COMPUTER video GAME...the environment we create is the environment we are left to "live/play" in.  Some imbecile hiding behind the safety of internet anonymity purposefully trying to provoke others or irritate them is NOONE to be respected or held up for adulation.  I always believe you shouldn't type/vox something you wouldn't be comfortable saying face to face with an individual.

The reason we are only naming a few individuals here is because the rest of the community CHOOSES to be respectful of others and NOT conduct themselves in a selfish egotistical manner....and thank goodness for that...the game would go down the crapper...

I'll take a game filled with 999000, tatertot, corkyjr over a game filled with the names mentioned in this thread anyday...

We often hear vets who long for "the good old days" of early airwarrior...well i was there and folks "talked" with their skill and not their typing.

It is embarrassing to even have a thread like this because it will inspire other idiots to "be like Shane" etc...and that would be a bad thing in my opinion.

For the kiddies out there...RESPECT and REPUTATION are the easiest things to lose in life and hardest things to earn,,, :salute

Mark.....did you know a lot of ww2 pilots who could "smacktalk" their opponents????   :salute
Greg Boyington -  He was known to literally "talk smack" to his enemies....
"On one mission over Bougainville, according to Boyington’s autobiography, the Japanese radioed him in English, asking him to report his position and so forth. Pappy played along, but stayed 5000 feet higher than he had told them, and when the Zeros came along, the Black Sheep blew twelve of them away."
"A typical daring feat was his attack on Kahili airdrome at the southern tip of Bougainville on October 17, 1943. He and 24 fighters circled the field where 60 hostile aircraft were based, goading the enemy into sending up a large force. In the fierce battle that followed, 20 enemy aircraft were shot down while the Black Sheep returned to their base without loss."

Lol, never fail, the WW2 realism comparisons.  I think that might actually be the #1 strawman argument that is used on the boards.

There is NO bad argument to promote good sportsmanship and genteel behavior...I bring that argument up because many of these posters are the ones who champion "realism" and "furballing" as the reason for playing the game...

I DO find "strawman" arguments do tend to annoy strawmen.... :salute

Oh I'm sorry...did my "smacktalking" strike a nerve???? annoy you???  tickle your inferiority complex???  OR do cartoon airplane duels release happy little endorphins in you that help you sleep at night???

Once again you help me prove the point that "smacktalking" is simple and not very challenging...it is actually rude and brings out the worst in others.  I will now follow the "smacktalking" playbook and ask you to get off my hook...

I realize I am most likely wasting my time here as for many of you it is your baseline personalities that are at the root of the problem.  No BBS verbal sparring will modify that. I post in hope that newer players to the game won't drink the "smacktalking" koolaid...but will instead model themselves after folks that deserve their respect. :salute  Sometimes it takes vets to stand up and be willing to promote good sportsmanship.

Like who?  Name one poster who 'champions realism and furballing as the reason for playing the game'.  Just one please.

Not sure this comes across as respectful and your response looks like the nerve struck was yours. Just saying.
