No, not the war itself, but its peace treaty is what helped to cause future wars.  I don't want to start a debate with this remark; I think we can all agree on that point.

You can still go out to the area that the trenches occupied and if you dig you will find human remains... everywhere nearly. Tragic.

WWI didnt end until WWII was over.
