How to Distinguish from a Superiority Complex: The genuine superiority
complex is not superficial conceit but the consciousness of superiority developed from
the feeling of personal cleverness, ability superior to their peers, and easy
accomplishment of difficult tasks. The individual with a genuine superiority complex is
truly a brilliant adult who retains the infant’s egocentricity, has not grown up enough to
recognize his own limitations, and will not have, emotionally, anything more than a
precocious and somewhat spoiled child complex. However, over-compensation from an
