I think it is pretty obvious Diver was taking this game way too seriously. If he could melt down and go off on Hitech, I can imagine what he could do in the MA to someone he doesn't have to worry about.

I think the AH vacation may do him a lot of good, I'm also willing to believe he will be back eventually.

Agree.

Thunderegg, he was going over the top on 200 Thursday Night at times.   Those two threads never should have been started, all of us know this. Both players aren't "new" and know the manner in which HTC handles those "incidents".

I believe Diver will be given a 2nd chance, just let him cool off, relax and come back with a clear mind.    Diver was an excellent person to have chatted with while I winged the BoP's.   His esprit de corps was always excellent.

I have to correct you, NC. This is the genuine Diver-dude. I know this for fact.
When things cool down, I would highly suggest both Diver & Dale reconsider their stance.

:salute   My apologies.  I stand corrected.   Like I said, I don't know him personally, but that sort of rhetoric was not something I expected from such a long standing player.  I have gone back and re-read the thread several times, and I don't understand why he (or anyone) would take the thread so personally, nor respond with such a direct personal attack.    :headscratch:

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I was apparently incorrect.  I hope that cooler heads will soon prevail.   :salute

Well, what those guys did was lame.  Even the hack itself was lame.  But, hey, big WTG to the community for making it a success.  Had you guys left it alone, HT would come in in the morning, ban them, fix the security hole and the whole thing would have been a big nothing.  But noooooooo lol, every one had to run around like chickens with their heads cut off.  Really, if it happens again just ignore them.  Attention is what they wanted and attention si what you gave them.  NOt every single person online needs to tell them that they will be reported, band, that you are running film, that you will email HT, etc lol.  My guess is that they knew that  :lol  Just leave it alone and its a fail.  React like last night and you give them what they want.  And unless you are working for HT and have power to do something about it, stop trying to make a citizens arrest  :aok

Just report them quietly and avoid them next time.
I wont mention names but someone actually wanted players to move from the area where they had been fighting for awhile because the hackers were there and they were "taking advantage of their hacking". The guys hacking were probably laughing at all these people telling them they were reporting them.

Grizz said they were advertising or something on channel, I didnt see it but why didnt the guy get text banned right away? I have heard of mods in game, is there truth to this? If there are maybe a boost in their numbers should possibly help with dealing with situations like this...just a thought :salute

Yeah the 'report to moderator' button would be handy if the mod had a power to put an account on temporary suspension (kick/temp ban) on strong suspicion of foul play. Maybe ban is too harsh tool for a mod but kick + ability to instantly contact HTC might do the trick. Several kicks if necessary to keep them out and HTC could deal with them further.

Naturally the problem with this is that power corrupts and I can see cases where a mod would kick someone after losing a fair fight. That's why every kick should be monitored and taped later to be reviewed by someone at HTC (non-valid kick = immediate loss of mod privilege).

I just would have liked to see the reaction of HT and the staff after they came in office in the morning and discovered their work had been "scratched" by a no-life hacktard again.  Why this? because I felt myself like someone had stolen my money or, more in general, offended me,  or just like when some idiot use their keys on your new car... (not to open it).. and I'm not even working for HTC.

That kind of people should only be beaten all day long not only with their own keyboard - too light - but with the  piles of  hacking and pron magazines they hide underneath their bed - indeed heavier stuff -

First of all the person who was text banned was NOT advertising. Sorry Griz, you got it wrong. Instead of flying over there to see it (why waste the time?) he looked it up on youtube. Someone asked for the link, he posted it. Everyone was spamming the chat about the godforsaken hackers that it scrolled up to quickly so he posted it again along with saying "if you see this happening report it". Which then resulted in a witch hunt and the mass reporting to which he got text banned. I know this because the person who got banned is my wingman, and I was on VOX with him the whole time. The whole situation could have been over and done with if someone had just said "It would violate the EULA" in the BEGINNING of the mess instead of flaming the guy, pissing him off, then telling him. For those of you who know this person, you also know he's a RL pilot. That being said, he did just get back from a tiring flight and was about to log of when this mess happened.

Hacking games happens. Always has, always will. They crave attention anytime they put on such a blatant display as they did last night. Screaming at them, telling them you're going to report them, that you're filming them and such just fuels their ego. When it happens, film it, send it to HTC and let it be done. Watching the chat last night (or night before, sorry it's 4 am here) was like getting the play by play from a squeaker and just as annoying.

I understand that this is a close community. Everyone seems to know everyone. That was one of the factors that decided wether or not I was going to pay for the subscription. To those that led the witch hunt, well done, Mission accomplished, you succeeded in doing absolutely nothing. Kudos to you.

If you feel that you have to flame this post, go right on ahead, here's a Zippo. Wake me when you're done playing Neighborhood Watch. That's my 2 cents, I'm going to bed. To the rest, see ya in the skies.

No I didn't.  The two were posting the URL to their hack website on country channel.  I was there for the beginning of this thing and was observing it from the runway and tower on knight side.  I quickly lost interest though and left for the DA for a couple hours.  As for the rest of your post, I have no clue what you are talking about because I was only there for the first 30 minutes or so.  They were posting links on knights country channel without a doubt.  I'm sure Karaya and Betty saw it, they were right there paying attention too.

MadHat im sure your wingman can get that figured out easily enough just by asking skuzzy to review the films he has been sent. Honestly I dont know how anyone saw anything on the text buffer especially if they tune 200.....people throwing out threats left and right towards the hackers(like they care :noid) .

yes grizz, we all seen it, and also, i know myself along with others .reported them so they could no longer advertise their crap on there, it would have only gave the people that dont want to learn the game the way it should be to do something stupid likes these morons did the night before last.

hitech has nothing to reconsider....he is trying to protect his business.....his livelihood........and continue giving us a great game to play.
although diver may be a cool dude, he picked the wrong way to go about it. if anyone needs to reconsider a stance, it is him, and him alone.

I think the reconsider part is about Dive being banned for life.  Yes Dive screwed up in the worst way!  Ya just don't poke a pissed-off just awakened bear in the eye and expect to get away unscathed.  The really bad thing is that the only winners in this whole deal is those tards that pulled this crap.  They got their 15 minutes of fame and we got a pissed off game designer/developer and lost a good friend to some of us in the process.  Don't get me wrong, I am not supporting the way Dive blew up and letting his frustrations override his usually fun-loving disposition.  I have been flying with Dive for years and can honestly state that this incident is not representative of how he usually acts.  I sincerely hope that Dale can show some mercy in the near future.
