The Hurt Locker
« on: January 15, 2010, 05:30:55 PM »
Anyone seen this movie, I watched it today, hadn't heard much about it, but I do remember a few commercials when it came out, I have to say it's probably the best Iraq war movie I've seen, it's all about an EOD team in 2004 Iraq, I definitely suggest it to anyone who likes war movies.

it Was pretty good.  Somehow I wish it was a little more "real";  I know I know - It's Hollywood.  Overall a good one to rent.

I thought it was pretty good. Both of my sons that have served in Iraq thought the movie did a pretty good job of capturing the look of an atmosphere of Iraq

My step-father served a tour in Iraq, 2005-06. UH-60 Blackhawk Crewchief & Mechanic, Combat Search and Rescue. After watching it, he said it was probably the most realistic war movie he's seen in a long time. During the movie he even commented saying the showers looked just about exactly as they do at Camp Victory.

I only saw the last half of the movie, but after one glance while doing laundry, I sat down and watched. It was great.

I have a few EOD buddies who felt the same way. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Yeah it was one of those movies that really didn't get much publicity when it came out, but I have heard that it may get the Oscar nomination for best picture of the year.

Just finished watching it...one of the better war movies. Pretty good portrait of an EOD adrenaline junky. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see a good war movie.
