Wow, all that extra work?  I just turn my head a little to see backwards, then move away from my monitor and up a little bit as needed.  I don't mess with re-centering my TIR.

After the Beta 3 drivers came out they stopped your head movement at 180 degrees. so to look past your tail you now need to turn your head in the opposite direction to see the other side of your tail. Maybe this is what he is talking about. I personally use the beta 3 drivers.. In can turn my head 10 degrees and look 360 degrees around the airplane, i can turn my head an additional 10 degrees and look another 360 degrees. this not the way i have it set up but i hope you get the idea. If you can get beta 3 drivers try them. you can pm me with your request, but i am away from home and do not know when i'll be back..

With the default drivers and the default settings on everything, I can just lean forward then turn my head and see my 6. Only the corsair and hellcat(of the planes I try to fly) dont work perfectly.
I guess I have to sit on the runway and tweek with it and see what I can do.

I uncheck the Trueview box on the TIR cp, and I can see 360, just like Linda Blair.

I always disable my TIR when in a GV.  Sometimes I'll have it on while driving, but for sure it's off when I'm shooting.

Cc it doesn't work on gvs. I have my speed at 1 and smooth at 40, helps a lot when I have a couple of beers.

Use the smooth built in profile. Speed 1. smooth 20-40. Don't drink first couple of times.  map center and off to the stick.  Don't forget to look away from screen a lot.  To avoid vertigo.

I'm going to drink heavily to emulate typical combat conditions

Ok, I just tried it (no beer).

Can't get it to do my bidding yet. I think I'll gonna end up liking it, but it's all over the place right now.

Especially rear views.

But I haven't pleyed with it much yet in-game setting-wise.

I did turn on the one trackir checkbox "trackir object relative move" i think it was.

What else do I need to do?

Also, how crucial is it for reciever to be at same height as the traclip Pro?

My reciever looks down on it from a few inches.

Thanks

My reciever is a couple inches above my head also and it works fine.  As long as its not TOO far i think its fine.

I have Track IR Object relative mode on also.  If i turn it off my rear views are inverted. (when i lean left the view goes right.)

So how do I go about tweaking it?

Main issue right now is whenever I'm looking around, and want to come back to the sight, I'm off-center and have to kinda duck down to get the sight back.

What % of the time are you using trackIR, and when you come back to forward view, do you recenter it somehow?

Or do you just stay in trackir all the time?

Also, is there an option to recenter in-game? Or do I have to use the keyboard?

Thanks in advance

when you open the trakir program look for the box called hotkeys these are mapped to the keyboard.  its a dropdown box with 3 options, center, pause and precision.  not sure what precision does, but the map the center and pause to two buttons on your stick.  the center option will recenter your view withing aces high, the pause will "disable" trackir within the game.  I always center then pause when shooting. or when vulching, or anything that has to do with aiming.  I also kept my stick view options, so when I use my stick to look back and I can use trackir to see high or low or a bit more to the side.  just work with it.  also I found it easy to use the smooth built in profile and keep the speed at 1 and smooth option at 40 ( I dont get as dizzy, specially after a couple of beers ).  these two options are under the motion control box, but basically you have to get used to it.  but its awesome in firefights, specially when you go above the con and he cant find you so he thinks he lost ya, then you pounce or crash like me  :).
