If I am not mistaken, and I probably am, the enemy would shoot down the enemy no matter what they were in. I don't think it really mattered to them if it was a silk shot or a plane shot, in WWII that is, and I believe that both sides  were guilty of the offense. A enemy pilot dead is a enemy pilot dead.
