gunners
« on: March 25, 2010, 05:28:13 PM »
it seems that on AH2 that every five minutes you hear a guy say "i need a gunner" and i think they're saying that they need a gunner for their bomber (but I'm not sure :headscratch:) and i would help them but i don't know how to become their gunner so if someone could help me and tell me how it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes that is what they are looking for Grupa.

You can join someone by using a dot command.  Bring up the text buffer (/ key is the easiest) and type in the command   .join PlayerID      ie.  .join Gowron67

If you want to leave a plane that you have joined: .unjoin PlayerID

Or you can find their name in the roster, right click on it, "join" or in the hanger you can click on the join button, find their name.

Esc, end sortie will also put you back in the tower, as will .ef

One thing to keep in mind though, PLEASE ask before sending join commands. Of course that isn't really necessary if a person has asked for a gunner already.
Just sending random join commands to anyone in the arena will not make you many friends.

Another thing when your a gunner don't waste like 500 bullets on 1 plane that makes a guy not wanna have you for a gunner short controlled well aim burst work well. When you get into the advanced levels of gunning you'll be able to shoot 262s that are going 600mph coming from the sun. :)

Can you also join a fighter, and ride along as an observer?  I may create an account for one of my kids, and I would like to have him ride along with me in my fighter to start off.

<snip> I may create an account for one of my kids, and I would like to have him ride along with me in my fighter to start off.

Be aware that at times, some people get shall we say 'carried away' in the heat of battle and their language may not be suitable for youngsters.
IMO this should not be tolerated and you do have the option of right clicking their name in the roster and reporting their text or chat.
