If I recall correctly Skuzzy once mentioned that AF in AH is just wasting GPU resources since very little in the game actually would benefit from AF. Texture sharpness is really not so important for me during AH gameplay anyway. There's very little time to view details when you're in combat.

Wow..  Alright then..    :airplane:

Didn't really need to know why it's not important to you...  Only whether it was supported now after the significant texture and terrain update..  But thanks anyway.....?

I noticed a huge difference with the ground textures with AF set to max.

In another thread talking about large-size TVs/monitors, he made a couple of comments about AF.

By the way, if you run the game and force AF (anisotropic filtering) on, the text is going to be blurry.  Nothing we can do about it.

You can make it look worse by forcing filters on, when they should not be on.

On my system (ATI 4850) forcing AF makes a subtle but noticeable difference in ground textures at the edges.  Example: without AF the edges of the road texture that runs through vehicle fields looks bad a low angles (say viewed from a tank driver position).  With AF it looks much better.  It's subtle and I doubt most people would notice it or care much.

With AF, the ground textures detail continues to be high quality, even at far distances.  It makes the mountains far away look better, as well as when looking that the ground during takeoff and landing situations due to the low AGL and the angle of the ground texture you are viewing it at.

The text maybe fuzzy, or it may not be, but the text looks great to me with AF set to max of 16x.

I didn't ask if it was important to him or not..  All I asked was if it could be utilized..
Obviously the guy's been playing for awhile and is proselytizing on how I should play(not worrying about AF and such).. :joystick:

I don't need to hear about how he plays..  I just wanted to know if AF worked....

Who cares about your thoughts?

Then why didn't you just try it rather than bother to ask?
