I picked up an X52 Pro and Pro Pedals for my son off Ebay that were brand new...never been used for ~$50 for the X52 Pro setup and ~$60 for the pedals.

Did you try disabling the rudder or testing the other axis? The x and y axis should not wear out as they are hall effect. If it is just the rudder function you might be able to get a set of used rudders on the internet for under 100.

Also don't understand the fascination with sticks that still use pots. i.e CH.

 My second x52 just died as well. I can't afford a proper upgrade, I'm thinking about trying the Thrustmaster T.16000M. Been thru the Saiteks and Logitechs, want to try something new. Anyone tried the 16000?  I would love a CH stick, but I would also need rudder pedals.
