Rescue plane
« on: June 23, 2010, 02:49:34 AM »
It would be a nice idea to have a two seater rescue plane to rescue squad members :old:
Squads could mount rescue missions :old:
Rescue plane could be perked :old:

Say you get shot down and bail out. Then you have two options, first ask you squady to fly all the way to where you went down (survive the flight there) and pick you up then bring you home, or type .ef and press enter. After both scenarios you go back to the hangar get a new plane and fly.

Perhaps if you get rescued you can still land your kills, but since your plane did not land that would not be actually landings kills. Or the same things with perks, but then again your play the perks for the plane not the pilot. I can't come up with anything, perhaps you can elaborate on your idea.

I don't think there should be any benefits being rescued, it just be fun tring to rescue a squad mate deep in enemy territory. :old:

Maybe rescue by jeep would be good idea as well.

Imagine hordes of POW's running around hiding in bushes and trees :old:

For the score dweebs here is my score idea about being rescued

Death Multipliers    -as they are now-
Landed1.0
Ditched0.75
Bailed0.5
Captured0.4
Killed0.25
Crashed0.25
Discoed0.25

Death Multipliers          -rescue introduced-
Landed1.0
Rescued0.8 or any value above the Bailed's value
Ditched0.75
Bailed0.5
Captured0.4
Killed0.25
Crashed0.25
Discoed0.25

Who rescued the bailed pilot should get perks just like the resupply runs -GV points or bomber points- (multiplier value should depend from bonus and ENY)

Pilots bailed over the water can be rescued also when we get a PBY or a Blohm and Voss or Dornier   flying boats   :noid

Maybe instead they get points of the pilot they rescued?

eg; rescue a fighter pilot, goes to fighter perks
Rescue a bomber goes to bomber perks?

this sounds good also.

When I first started I rescued planes when my other kid buddys got shot down. I would up a plane that's fast and can land quickly. I would land by them and have them end sortie and join my plane then go back to base. It was fun. Gives you experience in searching for a small target with directions, like flying blind. Gives you some navigation skills.

what have you started zack?   :)

I vote +1 for the PBY Catalina just so we can land and take off from water,  maybe a berth at the ports for spotting GV's.

This seems like a pretty cool idea to me. The rescue plane would have to be a 2 seat model in my opinion. Perhaps a SBD or Stuka or the like. Then the second player would be the gunner until the plane returns to base. If it were an ocean bail, a PT boat or CV group could do the rescue until a suitable float plane became available. GV could be the Jeep,M3 and the German Half-track.

Would love or hell could even have ditched plane repairs like a jeep can bring vehicle supplies. So that when you land with a botched radiator or something your friend can bring you some industrial duct tape and wd40 to fix all your worries!
