What is your definition of a positive impact?   Skyrock said if someone had not called him out about being a picktard  he would still be a picktard.   So for him its what gave him the drive to become one of the best dogfighters in the game.

This is true, and the game needs its Skyrock's and Shane's.  The problem is there is a whole gaggle of people who have no business acting like that.

Con:  Nice pick! Can't you even 1 on 1?
Me:   Sure, let's go to the DA
Con:  No.  The DA is for losers.

Hint hint - if you won't accept someone's offer of a guaranteed 1v1, don't complain when you don't get one in the MA!

Screw being a nice guy, If someone jumps me when Im already 3v1 and steals their kill away....Im going to call him a tard. If it was a good kill well then of course <S>

Hmmm...air war simulation (game)...There are no ROE's that I am aware of.  Sounds like the 3v1 turned into a 4v1.  One must always have SA.  That is why I "die" so often.  Get focused on the attack, don't look around, bang!  Tracers flying past the canopy...from where?

You also left out the part where it is just fun to poke the other guy a little.  Stang for example likes being poked.  Literaly  :O

I did mention it was easy to wind someone who is complaining up.

As to Stang and poking, I'm not even gunna go there :noid

Its interesting to me that its not acceptable to talk the way you want but it is to fly any way you want.  The premise is implied and its flawed.  If there is an acceptable way to talk is there not an acceptable way to fly?  How can you claim rules for speech and not rules for flying?  Speech is nothing more than a representational system in this case  of flying.
So there are rules for how you represent what did happen ,but not for what did happened?  :huh

Taking an enemy on the battlefield is like a hawk taking a bird. Even though it enters into the midst of a thousand of them, it gives no attention to any bird than the one it first marked.

No man, you missunderstood my original premis. There are no rules to how you fly or how you talk. But there are outcomes we can predict from either an A, B or C reaction. The point is not even about what you say, you could say 'nice pick' and then leave it (though for every Skyrock out there there are fifty people who just squelch you in that situation). That's still accepting the outcome rather than complaining or excusing.
I certainly would not attempt to think I was worthy to set 'rules' for how anyone else speaks or flys. Just highlighting the likely results of three ways to take a situation. More clear now?

Even if one does get cherry picked, ho'ed, gangded and vulched the game becomes alot more fun if you just dont care.

But why is it OK for the offender to care that he was called out?  Maybe the game would be better if we could all just take a little bit smack talk?

Maybe you're right.  So, by all means, call people out..... get annoyed with yourself for dying.... and broadcast it to the arena.  :neener:

"No one is perfect and growing up takes time."

Yo Bat ,  You really had me going there.  You tagged Acceptance as positive with the whole growing up thing.

If their are no rules then they all have to be neutral , not good or bad as they dont exist as rules.

I understand your premise now.  I dont think you can get from here to there.
How do you know when to accept the outcome with out a set of rules?
Is Acceptance not a rule?
If you have chosen what is positive  you must have a rule for it.

I do enjoy the conversation. We can't have this conversation with out complaint  (and I'm using the word with implied positive meaning)

I enjoy the deep structure conversations. I'm guessing this wont' go there. Maybe it would make a good PM at some point.
