I went in there for about 30 minutes last night to see what it was about. Got shot right off the bat.

First thing is I have to use the keyboard. Guess it does not support controllers. I'll have to do some reading. Looks cool though... my tank burned nicely.
Your best bet is to find guys on the AH/FW channel who are willing to help you out and protect you. First thing you're going to want to do is get rid of the first tanks...only takes a bit of playing time to do so.

Hey I'll look you up when I'm on Shuffler. Got my code the other day and tried to install through the patcher/installer route. Gets to 99% installed and freezes every time :( . Going to try the lump sum download later.

Something newer than 0.5.4.1 to 0.5.4.2?

I don't see anything new posted

http://game.worldoftanks.com/update

I didn't get my code until Friday and spent about 24 hours playing it...it's a bit of a learning curve figuring out what needs to be done but, as long as you're not afraid to get whacked, it's a lot of fun.

as has been said earlier look for some of us guys that are playing already. We learn a lot through our mistakes and can help others avoid them. We may even call you a noob.

I can't get on because it is saying that it is downloading an update but then it comes back and says  "Update error: the patches are not installed!"

If you have an anti-virus program, disable it before downloading.  If you're not using an active anti-virus program or don't have one installed but behind a router, try placing your computer in the DMZ and then download the game.  Some have been reporting that their firewalls are blocking some ports and others have reported their anti-virus programs recording a false positive.

...from the WoT forum:

1. Run launcher
2. Wait til line states - 'downloading/recieving patches'
3. Close launcher
4. Open WoT folder
5. Look in 'Updates'
6. Load the 'wot_54.48258_launcher_en.patc h TORRENT' file into your torrent client and download
7. Move torrent downloaded PATCH file into WoT\Updates
8. Replace any existing file when promted
9. Run launcher

The Launcher will NOW install the patch

..worked for me, was having same probs.
