MAJOR performance boost for me on Aces High. Havent tried other games, but reports are good on the whole.
I can fly at 1024x768x32 with 4xFSAA and it only drops below 30 when flying thru a lot of smoke.

couldnt do that before.

I installed them under Win2k.  I didn't notice much of a difference.  They didn't seem to break anything, but at most I only picked up a frame or two.

Chances are they resolve some compatibility issues, so installing them is not a bad idea anyway.

cc thanks for testing.

for me it was a big fr boost on AH.
Its no placebo effect either, I just couldnt fly before with 4x anti aliasing. now I can.

maybe I got such a boost because I had a bad driver installation before?

You have a voodoo 5 card right?  Maybe this version improved the performance of them.  They are so new that the issues that they fixed haven't yet been published.

Pollock,
You are running 60 fastest because your Hz is set at that speed, and you have V-Synch OFF.

To run FSAA and all other settings, I use nVmax. Its a nice utility to tweak nvidia cards.

Animal: actually vsync ON limits your framerate according to your monitor refresh rate. Vsync OFF you can get much higher framerates regardless of your monitor refresh speed.

However when playing Aces High, it's reckommended to keep vsync ON at all times because leaving it off can cause rubber bullet effects. I know, I've been there.

Hmmm on 1.07 did the VSYNC selection go away? I see options for frame rate limiting: Unlimited, 45FPS, and 60FPS.

BTW... I'm using a Voodoo 3.

Vsync was never an option in Aces, its selectable within your video card's advanced options, or via a tweak utility.

Okay... it seems to me there were some other video options before... can't recall what they were.
