I was the only out of my multiple friends that bought a PS3, within the first month two of my friends X-box's had broken...within the first 2 years their replacements and the other friends had broken, 4 of them switched to PS3.  I have owned my PS3 since release.  Have never had ONE PROBLEM with it.  I am saying this because I don't want people to get ripped off by a system that gets its little "red light of death" or w/e it is called.  For those of you that say "Halo is amazing!"  No its not, I find it one of the stupidest games ever created.

I think he's alluding to the fact that the failure rate for the Xbx 360 is far greater than the failure rate for PS3s.  Even with the new CPU/GPU combo that uses less power on the new slim Xbox 360, it still has a failure rate of 7%-8%, while the PS3 is close to 1%.  Of course, Microsoft likes to point out that it is now impossible to get the dreaded red ring of death on the slim 360 but that's only because they got rid of the red ring lights.

I've had the same Xbox 360 for four years and the same original Xbox for six, I'm not worried.

A lot of the problems with the 360 in the beginning were because of an eco-friendly solder. They have cut down the RROD rate significantly. It's still higher than the PS3. I have played and owned both the PS3 and the 360. I sold my PS3 after 3 months and still have my original 360 from over 3 years ago.

And Halo is a highly successful series. Just because you find it stupid, doesn't mean that the argument is valid. Plus, xbox has Gears of War series, Forza, Left 4 Dead, Fable, just to name a few.

PS3 has MAG. A laggy POS.

All I am saying is Sony is a way better game system maker, I had PS2 for god like 7 years and worked fine, ended up selling cause didn't use it after PS3.  And even the PS3, never had one problem and ive dropped it off a 4 foot dresser.

MAG is not laggy, it's actually the opposite; 256 players with absolutely no lag, and my friends have not had lag. Just because you find it stupid AND crappy, doesn't mean that the argument is valid.

So you've had your Xbox360 for 3 years, my friend still owns a PS3 20GB Launch console (4 years), both my Xbox's broke within 2 years...

Plus, PS3 has God of War series, MAG, Uncharted & Uncharted 2, Gran Turismo 5, just to name a few.

Xbox has Halo. A game that has 95% of its population being kids - 10 year olds who cuss and scream.

Well redman, I don't think drop tests are a good way to evaluate system quality  .

Personally, I feel that PlayStation3 IS a bit more reliable, but not so much as to dismiss getting an Xbox 360.

And halo is one of the better series I've seen.

to the OP: left 4 dead is another good game. Has an interesting back story if your into that kind of thing.

Dont buy 360s, they are junk, over half of em break within 3 years.  Buy PS3's.

I own both (plus a WII), and far prefer the games on the XBox 360 as opposed to the Playstation.  As for the XBox, I had the initial issue happen, sent the console in, they repaired it and returned it to me with a free years subscription to the XBox Live.  Hardly a huge issue.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

yearly payment, and it's only two months worth of AH bill so no big deal.

plus, i only bought a year and my xbox live still connects 18 months later, so i'm not complaining.

I hope this isnt against forum rules but I am sort of old school.I cannot afford PS3 or a 360. But I own a original XBOX and just recently MS decided not to let you play online with them. I also own a PS2 which I am finding out is limited to online play. Anyone know a good PS2 game that you can still actually play online???? Very frustrating to buy a game that says its for online play just to find out its not supported anymore.

Just for the record though...the original XBOX is a excellent DVD player and CDs. Doesnt miss a heartbeat!. Compared to the PS2 does nothing but stutters and skip on CDs and DVDs.

hope this isnt considered trolling ( have no idea what a troll is)or breaking any other rule I havnt read  Im  just looking for a good PS2 game that is :pray still supported online

for all of you who complain about system failures, invest in nintendo hardware, lol.
I have all the nintendo systems and not one has failed.

(Just so you know, my NES is 24 years old, and my Super Nintendo is 18, both used to be my older brother's)
But between the newest generation systems, my vote is with the 360

I've owned every system mentioned in this thread and never had one fail other than through stupidity on the part of the people using them.  Squid just gave away his PS2 and doesn't want 3.  So I'm getting a slimbox for 'Christmas' meaning when I can afford it and I'm bound to a promise I made him to learn Halo so I can play online with him.

Halo players PLEASE tell me it's somewhat easier than AH to play.  I really don't want to put a controller through the wall.
