Wait, are we talking about "Kick Ass" or is there another separate movie?

"Kick Ass".  That's one of the movie posters.

And yes, it did hit the U.S. media weeks before the movie hit the theaters due to a comicon preview and the red-band trailer on the intardnet.

The controversy was about the language used by a ten year old girl, particularly the "C" word.  The fact that she cuts people in half and shoots dozens more didn't seem to be a problem.

Priorities.

I don't have a problem with it.  It's a movie.

I read the graphic novels and was eagerly anticipating the theatrical release and was relieved that they didn't stray too far from the source material.

Looking forward to the sequel.

Just watched this in Blue Ray from the red box...  I liked it, and was really surprised. Thought it may be a flop

I liked it a lot, although the scene where the 11-year old Hit Girl gets beat up by the adult villain was a bit much to take.  Kick bellybutton is strange because it's a send up of how far away comic books are from real life, but then it goes and glorifies just about everything you find in comics.  Worthy of cultural analysis, but awesome.  And Chloe Morentz (Hit Girl) is going to have a good career if she can keep her head on straight.

Oh, and Hit Girl would be a great name for an airplane.

My favorite scene is her first fight scene with Razoul (Or however the hell you spell it). The soundtrack was perfect, reminiscent of something from Chuck!

I rented it last night with my "On Demand" which crapped out halfway through the show. I loved it up to that point.

As far as I can tell, her parents have their heads on straight and that seems to be just as important now-a-days.  I don't think they even let her watch the completed movie because it's rated R.
