I get it, "special designations" are allied, western centric.

and for soviet and german rides... they get no special designations.

here's a clue...

IL-2  "Shturmovik"
Me 262 "Schwalbe" (swallow)
I-16 "Rata"
Fw-190A "Würger" (shrike)
Here is another clue, sturmovik, doesnt have an H in it, and Rata was the name given to the I-16 by spanish nationalists, Soviets called it Ishak

Transliteration inaccuracies are hardly components of the English language...

Tchaikovsky and Chaikovsky are both interchangeable transliterations of Чайковский... it's not like you're using a different language's phonology, like Tchaikowsky or Czajkowski or something.
