Wasn't 75 the one that Park got shot up in during the Moresby raid?  Had to tell 75'a pilot that they had to junk her.  That was a P400

I don't know. Park's.. Nanette was #74 or #76 I think.

Nanette was 74, but Park flew 75 one day and ended up getting it all shot up. SISU is a 400 and is supposed to be #75. Perhaps Kyro can thank Park for the end of his plane.

Are you sure about that, Cactus?   IIRC the N has same wing armament as the D; Q was the first switch to .50 cal underwing pods.  Not sure about all up weight changes or engine hp though.

LOL the danger of books with lousy proof readers.  Lt. Robert Rutt, is really Lt. Norbert Ruff   He had 4 kills in 38s.  His 38 was known as "Ruff Stuff" and while it was a 38G, it's the paint scheme on a restored P38L based in Minnesota.  Ruff was from Wisconsin and a friend of the guys restoring the 38 who did it in his honor.  He passed away a couple years ago.

Not 100%. That's the impression I got after searching through some older threads.

I believe the N has the same engine as the Q, but the same armament as the earlier models. Kind of dead in between the D and the Q.

The changes made in the N were incorporated into the Q. They're essentially the same plane with the same performance and capabilities. The only (major) difference being the outboard guns. But this doesn't matter much since most Soviet pilots had those removed anyways.


I'd love to see the .30 outboard guns on the P-39Q in-game, just to fill-in for the M/N models. That, and I'd love to ping the heck outta folks after my taters are gone!

actually It would be the K, L and M  models. specifically K-5 which was a G that came from the D

I believe there were other minor differences that set the K apart (possible a different prop, different engine rating -- I'd have to check to be sure)

was there every a p39 model that had the performance of the Q model but had the 20mm gun option instead of the 37mm like the D model has?
