post your Madonion 3D benchmark 2000 scores here
« on: December 20, 2001, 12:26:00 AM »
Bloom made a good point in the other thread (which should have actually been titled the 2001 benchmark).  The 2001 benchmark is really biased torward hiend cards, such as Geforce3. So it probably would be interesting to see how well the same machines do with the 3D2000 benchmark available here.

Go run it and see, it will be good info fopr all to see and compare. I am really interested to see how well the intel machines and the amd machines stack up in this one. In addition I would love to see a radeon 8500 machine do the test.  This BM has a CPU speed test, which should be interesting to see.

The 2001 does give a significantly different result than the 2000.

I just ran 2000 on the exact same machine I ran 2001 on a few hours ago.

Here's 2000:

Project Name My Project
CPU AMD Athlon(tm) XP/MP/4 1410 Mhz

The 2001 one gave this same setup only 3033 3D Marks, while 2000 gives it 5667.

As a side note, while setting things up offline, I'm getting about 65-70 in the tower and chasing the HTC drones around in a Mustang gives hi 70's low 80's looking out the front view. Before I upgraded the CPU I got @ 40 in the tower and low 50's chasing the drones.

FWIW.

If you want to have more up-to-date results, I suggest you would use 3D mark 2001 and tell people to run it without nature and those couple others which hardly runs on older cards.
Just because it supports DX8 features like most games today.

ATI Radeon 64mb VIVO isn't hottest card with 16-bit, but excels better in 32-bit..  heres its 3dmark 2000 16-bit results anyway, with XP 1600+:

Project Name XP1600+ / Radeon 183mhz / 7199

Ammo as below,

Abit KR7A-Raid Motherboard
All memory speed options etc are on max performance and rock solid stable.

Memory is 1 stick of Crucial Cas 2.5 256 mb DDR PC2100.

Vid card is an Asus 8200 GF3 TI500

Last but not least the cpu is an XP1500 which i took about an hour of careful "adjustment" to unlock the multipliers, for normal use and this test it is running rock solid stable at XP1900 speeds thats 12 x 133 mhz and the Cpu voltage is still only 1.775V. standard is 1.75V
Cpu cooling is an Alpha Pal 8045 with a YStech 80mm FD8124 fan 3,300 rpm Output 45.2CFM at 34.2 decibels.
Nearly went with the Delta 80 mm 4900RPM 68.51CFM at 48.5 decibels but having lived with a Delta 60 mm at 46.5 decibels for months the thought of using an even louder delta 80mm was enough to rule that option out.
Current temps overclocked to XP1900 spec are case 28C, Cpu 43C, under load ie playing AH temp has never exceeded 49C, thats good enough for me.
Also posted new results in the other 3Dmark thread with this setup showing the cpu overclocked at different speeds its a bit long but may be of interest to somebody.
High score in 3Dmark 2001 is now over 8,575 using standard 133mhz bus speeds obviously it would go even higher if i used a lower multiplier with a higher bus speed to get back to XP1900 spec, but i cant be asked  as i am more than happy with it as it is now  :)
It would also get a higher reading if i used a newer set of Dets but i am sticking with the 21.81's for compatibility with all the Asus programs for temp monitoring etc.
