Don't they have a whole forum just about complaining about moderators?

I bet skuzzy gets on that forum opens a beer and holds back the tears dying of laughter.

If you consider it's nuke (the forum owner) getting ripped on mostly in that section... then yes I'm betting skuzzy does have a good laugh.

Look how fast this thread polorized and devolved to the personal just talking about "Talking About Religion"... :furious

Wonder if Skuzzy drinks or buys cases of antacid????:bhead????

look at how quickly this thread has degenerated into BS...if politics were allowed here, it would just degenerate that much faster.

To be frank, if you want a proper debate then go find a debating forum - there are plenty of them out there.

I'm religious, let me get that out.  Now, knowing how many different people here have different views, I can see nothing but arguments coming from a religious and or political forum.  I think a good discussion is healthy at times, but have you read this board?  Some come here to grief and nothing more.  And it would be hard to discuss something that you so strongly believe in with someone who believes the opposite.  Wars have been started that way.  I think you did the right thing by asking for it on the wishlist, but I think of all the forums, that one would need the most moderation and Skuzzys overwhelmed as it is.
to be honest, the religious discussions will break down to...

wether religion is good or bad.

arguments about god being real/fake.

and whether religion has done more good or more bad for the world.

and you dont even want to know what the political talk would boil down to....  :uhoh

If Belial has an opinion, it is his.  So he doesn't like your "non-kiddie pool" over there.  Deal with it.  Some like vanilla, some like chocolate.  Your opinion isn't the best for everyone.  Grow up.

I think it's hilarious you obviously feel threatened enough to attack him here, for simply stating how that forum came into existence.  The only reply a non-biased observer has is, "well that's your opinion on that forum, I don't feel the same way.".  But, seeing as you come from a forum where the truth on an issue has less to do with who wins a "discussion" than how much "adults" can act like prima donnas and throw porn into a thread....

You come here and showcase what is over there with... "You are ignorant, stick to what you know... The kiddie pool. " That is not a discussion, sir.  It is much easier to prove yourself ignorant, with a post like that, than Belial's ingnorance.  Please see "Argumentum ad hominem" and learn something.

Belial may have been a bit off on how that forum came to be, but not a whole lot.  There was an inner circle on here, in the O-club, that felt their time online had a direct correlation to the truth of their argument, and they would mercilessly berate posters both in the forums and in-game.  People didn't have discussions, it turned into a beat down, "look at me, look at me" forum.

Being that my views are different from many of those "cool guys", I was a frequent target of much vitriol.  I never cared a whole lot, but I was repeatedly vox'd and text'd while in-game to be berated because of my views.  Groups of them would form up trying to find me on the map, when I was flying.  It was all pretty desperate, simple behavior, from guys that never grew up.  Funny thing is, when they would find me, I would beat them down.

I find it humorous that I can go over there and still read about myself, from posters now.  I'm glad I made such an imprint.  I took it in fun, but I was vox'd a few times by grown men who wanted to get my address so they could come "visit me".  All for what was typed on the BBS.  I know a couple of people actually left the game because of that. I would imagine that's why this forum went the way it has, and it has been a much better place for it.  <S>

It's like anything else , you do not have like what someone says, just respect it, thats all. People are not always going to see eye-to-eye( see US Congress, Sigfried and Roy). simple enough

Whatever makes them happy.  I'm glad to see they have found a place where they can guffaw and circle jerk anonymously with others like themselves.  They spend so much time online screaming "my opinion is better than yours" that they can't possibly be expected to open up a book and form a coherent argument.  They truly aren't interested in any sort of discussion, unless the person already thinks like them.

But, that's what the country is becoming. Whoever screams the loudest is heard by the most, facts be damned, wins.  (See Fox and MSNBC. Both networks' highest rated programs are the most blatantly opinionated.)

Thank you, that was far more eloquent than I could have made it.
