101st sees action in Afghanistan

A friend of mine de-briefed 2nd and 3rd platoon. He said they went through an incredible ordeal.

My nephew is with the 101st in Afghanistan.  They've been seeing action pretty constant since they got there last June.  He's lost his best friend and a number of guys in his unit.

We ask an awful lot of our kids.

We certainly do Guppy.

This got me to thinking, and I realized that we lost a friend in Iraq a few years ago yesterday.

Clark was at our house while on leave before he died. He was very humble, he never once mentioned that he was a SEAL, even though we knew.

I asked him if he needed anything sent to him, his response was for beef jerky and baby wipes.

We've lost so many good people, I'm just terribly sad about it all.

I noticed in the video that soldiers are wearing a new camo pattern.  Looks more like the woodland camo of my day rather than that ACU digi-crap.

I read somewhere that the Army is Fazing out the ACU and are now going to what is called Multi Cam.

I personally like the ABU the Air Forces has.  I dont understand why they got rid of ACU's

Looks like that stuff is more suited for the muddy/Rocky/dark brownish
of the Afghani landscape, from what I've seen.

I would assume ACU's would stick out like a sore thumb if you're prone
on a mound of damp dirt.
