That terrible racing movie with Sylvester Stallone started out as a dramatization of Senna, but then they decided it wasn't exciting enough so they made it totally fiction.
They should've stuck to their original inclination. Senna was a master all his own.
I'm glad they didn't, they probably would have screwed it up. This documentary does a great job of telling his story with real footage and real facts, some knowledgeable people doing voice-over, and just a bit of dramatic music thrown in once in a while. Senna's racing was exciting enough, it doesn't need any dramatization, nor does the politics of the FIA. eg. the French FIA president finding --AKA making up-- a loophole to take the 89 title from Senna and give it to a French driver.
Seriously even if you're not a racing or Senna fan this documentary is well worth a watch just for the human side of the story.
PS now I'm thinking of a Hollywood version and who they could get to play Alain Prost, makes me laugh for some reason.
