You mean they're actually playing something that has to do with history???

Too bad I don't have TV service anymore or I'd join you.  Enjoy!

WWII in HD. Watched the series when it first aired. Been watching it again the last few hours. If you haven't seen it, you should. Great color footage and personal accounts.

Isn't it just black and white and they have imputed color using computer software.  I swear I had already seen half of the footage before in black and white.

Perhaps, but my opinions differ from yours, and I offered an explaination of your aversion to the scene where the Vietnamese child was suffering.

Been a long time since I have cryed but I just can't keep from it . What these men had to do for me to be free ...
I remember when I was very little , 49 now , My uncle showed me two canteen's full of gold teeth that he got some where over there . He said he take the but of his gun and knock them out . I never forget that . He hid those canteen's in the ground behind his house and died like a year later and we have never been able to find them . I looked for year's with no joy ..I know there there because I seen them but where he hid them I have no clue .I think that's why I am so mean  but after watching this my live is going to change .

first, the child was japanese not vietnamese...the documentary series is called WWII in HD not Vietnam in HD...secondly that was not an explanation it was a poorly attempted and ill timed philosophical statement gleened from other people. undoubtedly you are one of the brighter squeekers around these boards, however you are irritatingly lacking in areas of social interaction that at times make you appear to be a simple minded copy and paste poser with too much time on his hands. i'm sure that on facebook amongst your friends you would get responses along the marks of "wow, that's deep" but here, it is apparent that you are predominantly out of touch with not only reality but the full breadth and scope meaning of the philosophical text you have read elsewhere.

my aversion to the aforementioned clip is due to an ingrained distaste for seeing little children suffer from the shortsighted and selfish whims of grown men.

I can understand that, theres a story in "The Air War" section that gives me the same feelings.

the story about the crippled b17 who has its hydraulics  shot out, so it cant lower the wheels, or pull its ball turret up with 2 engines out.

and it ends with the ball turret gunner being crushed under the weight of the bomber as it belly slides in.

just the way they told it, the narrators voice of sorrow, the sirens in the background, and the way The presidents speech said "they will need thy blessings, for there road will be long and harsh..." as the bomber crashed down and the Ball turret is seen collapsing. that part always got to me.

I believe the color film in this is authentic, because there are some portions shot in black and white
