The Yak-3 would also handily outfly the Bf109F-4.

If the Jak3 could outfly the 109F, it could also outfly the spit9, ki84, f4u, etc etc so falls into the same category as the zeek, hurricane, brewster??
I "heard" that it could do a sustained circle in 17 seconds, thats pretty much the same as the 109F, also their top speeds are quite simmilar, also the 109F has a very small turn radius with flaps, 410 yards.
Lets hear the Jak experts  : )

Agree, I do not fly the Yak's enough right now. Like I said, I just started on them so I would very much like to hear from some Yakkity Yak sticks their thoughts on this...

Spit IX is a 1942 fighter, Ki-84 is crippled by bad fuel and the F4U would have some distinct performance advantages and disadvantages against the Yak-3.  Remember, the WWII Yak-3 was powered by the same ~1200hp engine as the Yak-9T.  It was the post war Yak-3 powered by the ~1500hp engine our Yak-9U has that put up the nearly 5,000ft/min.   The Yak-3's increased performance on the same engines was due to lower weight and better streamlining.

Um, no.
