If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

It's just scary to me.  Especially after being the victim of a botched background check with 3 full pages of convictions including 2 felonies.
It took weeks to straighten out and I nearly didn't get the job over it.

No big deal to me.

I post as if I am standing in front of the person I am addressing and as if everybody knows who I am.

Nothing you put on the internet is private, unless it's encrypted like financial transactions. Even then it is vulnerable to those who have the skill and equipment to hack the server. Consider the internet to be like radio, it's all open fer everyone to "hear" but worse since there is now likely to be a record of it. Ask a few congress critters.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

when I applied for a apartment lease, they did a back ground check as a routine procedure.  they found about 10 pages of people with the same name as me who had been evicted or owed money on the lease.  I got the apartment and nobody ever questioned me if I was one of them.  If you look you will find dirt on everbody most of it not true.  the funniest thing i remember from when I worked at the insurance company hiring people, is we never bother to check if the education/employment background was true.  and yet we always relied on a consumer report that was knew was highly inaccurate.  go figure.

I certainly screen my job applicants as does my wife with hers, including social media.  You want to post online just like you intend to represent yourself and our company; it isn't rocket science.

They look at fb closely as with any social network, schools do it to although if you ask they try to steer around the truth. It's just used to make sure someone isn't hiring a gang member or pyromaniac, or someone who doesn't really need the job. Also keeps up a report of criminal activity, some people are stupid enough to post that they broke the law.

Not at all, they look for key things, I don't know but it makes sense they wouldn't deny a job to a person who listens a certain kind of music. Its more serious things they look for.

the mucis i listen to has some "more serious" things in it as you say...

i would post some as an example... but i would have to blank out much of the words for the sake of not being Skuzzinated.

You can be denied a job for any reason or no reason in most states.
