Holy cow!
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:27:54 PM »
"Increased the maximum number of skins per plane from 16 to 32."

Anybody else drop a jaw at that one?!?

EDIT: Also of note:

"Added the ability to label default skins.  Default skins will always appear with an asterisk next to them."

That way you can label the default skin with the Group/Gruppe it flew for, in addition you can credit the original skinner if you are so inclined.

So the default Bf109E4 will now say "JG45 by Guppy*" instead of "DEFAULT"

Made that up, I'd have to go check what it is and who actually did it, and the * denotes the default skin.

So people will know which unit the default skin is from. For example the P-40E, instead of saying "Default" next the skin, it will say "49FG/9FS" or something to that effect.

Maybe they already are?

 :noid

EDIT: P.S. Instead of a mad rush to fill them all, I hope this instills a bit of thankfullness for what we have and makes people stop and think about the best use for those slots rather than multiples of similar markings. Otherwise it'll just be the same whines but "Why do we only get 32 slots?!" instead....

I don't know if anyone else is interested, but I am very much interested in doing the AVG flying tigers, I don't want to step on any of your toes so I am throwing it out there.

sorry Krusty don't mean to hijack your thread...should I start a new one?

There's a stickied thread above here where you can post which skins you're planning on doing. I don't think anyone's mentioned anything about P-40B skins yet, so you probably have first stab at whatever you'd like.

I for one hope to eventually see at least one skin fro each AVG squadron.

Well, you and Krusty make good points here.  IMO, we should all be vigilant about making sure that only the best skins get accepted to fill the extra slots.  That may mean we need to lobby for some sort of community approval, which may or may not work.  Regardless, nice move by HTC to free some stuff up.  May have to dust off Fiery Ginger now...
