Bringing a Corvette ZR1 in against a Mustang isn't even a fair comparison. The Corvettes were designed to take on European supercars, not American pony cars. If you want to make the comparison of a ZR1 vs a GT40 or even a regular Ford GT then go ahead, the GT will win both times.

Sometimes, you read something so phenomenally stupid, that you just don't know whether to laugh or just shake your head and walk away.

There's the video. Chrysler hasn't even taken their best car into that race (against the Mustang and Camaro) as the Challenger is probably the only one that would make it on the track, and even then it'd still be out-classed by the ZL1 and the GT500.

the fastest American Muscle qtr mile car ever put out was a Plymouth Barracuda...9 seconds in 1969

the first car to reach 200 in the qtr mile was a Dodge....ahhm that would be a Challenger......

let me guess you think the Challengers and Cuda's were made for the qtr mile track also......

when you know what you are talking about then we can have a discussion on Muscle cars.

Sorry for the confusion, I was talking Camaros and Challengers/Chargers. I didn't intend to bring Vettes into the mix.

Also, last time I checked the Ford GT still had the record of 278.2 MPH on the Texas Mile, something that any Corvette or Camaro has yet to do.

The only thing made by the Big 3 with the sack enough to run with the Vette on a real race track is the Viper ACR, and even then that thing can't be bought or really even driven on the street.

Look, I'm all about what Mr. Ford did in the '60's, putting the pimp hand up side old Enzo's head on his home turf. But you're letting your craziness make you look silly.

edit: oh, and   at you quoting the top end speed of a full blown race car from the '60's in a comparison of street cars from the present.

Last time I checked both the GT40 and the GT were street legal. The Corvettes were designed for racing as well buddy, just keep that in mind.
