The announcer was being a love muffin though.  He asked him about the "cheap shot" once and Mayweather was cordial and explained what he did was legal, then he asked him about it again and Mayweather lost it.

Mayweather was dominating the fight anyways.

Mayweather was bragging about winning when he took an obvious cheap shot (legal though), and then he wouldn't justify himself. He went on and almost ignored the question by saying "thanks to all you payper viewers blah blah blah."

Kudos to the old man!  :rock

I don't blame him one bit for taking a perfectly legal shot on a clueless opponent, especially after being head butted by said opponent.

Ortiz was a punk for the headbutt.

The ref sucked because if he called it game on, he should have been watching.

It's easy to see how Ortiz might have been confused when the ref was looking outside the ring and talking to someone.

I think Mayweather is a punk too. He took a cheap shot, and knew he was taking a cheap shot.

He should have been called out on it and that's what Larry Merchant did.

Pacquio has more class than Mayweather the punk, but we won't get to see that fight because Mayweather the punk wants to retire undefeated.

I didnt see the fight, waiting for it to be free.... ya I'm cheap so what.... Pretty fair assesment on your part Jim, although I think it's more not wanting to get beat up rather than undefeated,6 of 1 ,half dozen the other. Mayweather was a good fighter but then as his fame and wealth grew he started doing things that borderline broke the rules.Holding and hitting and hit on the break weren't above him. Ortiz,I've seen several of his fights and think he's an ok journeymen fighting that leads with his head,he got lucky in his last fight and caught a stronger fighter and put him down, that setup the Mayweather payday.

I know I'd like to see Manny and Mayweather fight,if only to watch Manny dismantle the smug punk!

   :salute

PS: Merchant deserves better than that, even from a punk like Mayweather.
