I don't care about what you Dodge or Ford junkies have to say.  Your trucks both fall short of the almighty Chevy.

noone for the "GMC"   (great mountain climber)  truck line.........  ???

I have had 2 ford trucks before in my past a 79 3/4 ton Ford, was a workhorse, the 2nd ford was based on those mazada 2000 models, I never drove it 1 inch, gave it to my dad and told him to do what he wanted with it.....

I have had 2 Chevy trucks in my younger years.... 1st was a 1969 Chevy C-10 shortbed painted Carolina Tarheel blue, with a vette 327 out of a 63 vette, sooped up a bit..........

my 2nd Chevy was a 1977 scottsdale shortbed, that I put my 1971 350 built mouse motor in, it was slammed to the ground ( well lowered really low ) had dropped spindles, d-arched leafs on the rear, had auburn posi unit 3:73 gears had a manual valve body in the Turbo 400 trans and self tweaked shift kit for Strip use...... motor put put 422 bhp.....  I took  4 days vacation from work to do a complete overhaul on the engine, custom fab my exhaust, tranny work, lowering & shocks, install the differential........ was one wicked little gogetter..... I had a one-off custom paint mized for it using 3 types of white colored paint , the paint cost me nearly 370+ for a gallon...... I put alotof money into this truck, but the Truck itself was given to me for free, my uncle owned it and was moving, he said if you want this blowed up chevy, you can have just come tow it home.....   gosh how I miss that Truck, and all the sweat and tears and busted knucles  scrapes/cuts etc I got from doing all that work to make it what it was........

I sold it to my very close friend ( btw we were as close as brothers, I lost him this past Sept 10th....... )  he did not have it 2 weeks before it got away fromhim and ended up wrapped around a big arse oak tree.......

I have always been a Mopar person, always will be since my dad's 64 plymouth sport fury with the 426 wedge w/ 4 speed he bought at the county Sheriffs auction back in the 60's..... it was the Sheriff's daily driver/patrol vehicle...... all the deputys had 4 door furys..........lol

but I will drive most anything as long as it gets the job done, and gets me from point A to point B.......

sorry for the ramble on there......

I am happy with my Dodge Trucks these days, they are paid for and I have no car payments....... it works for me.....

Disagree strongly.    GM's weak point are Instrument Clusters and Transfer Cases (I take around 15-20 phone calls a day on these two items alone Nationwide).    My Uncle designed the M1 Abrams transmission and the Chevy/GM Transmission for Allison.    He has been with them since 1980.

2 Silverados here(2500 series) 2005 and 2010 (4dr 4wd)

2005 has 134k on it with no issues, regular maintence done on it religiously though.
Only repairs its needed in 134k miles is 1 set of brakes and a headlight bulb  :aok

2010 seems to be on the same track  ;)

TC that Scotsdale sounded sweet, Id love to find one for me and my boy to work on.

you can buy two trucks at the same time same make same model same year of man. one can run for 15 years no prob, one will blow a head gaskit 2 miles from the lot. this goes with anything.

i'd like to know, what the hell he did to start his truck on fire?
i belive the alternator's on the fords caused the fires, very common with trucks. but i think they fixed it.

I'll take real world any day. Never heard of vehix... sorry.

real world is that there are more ford trucks/vans on the roads than anything. they're more commonly used in fleets, and for towing.  :aok

Dad has had his 2001 F-150 until now, its now mine, its never been in need of repairs, nothing about it is new, everything is stock except batteries and oil and gas of course. Still runs like new, I'm a Ford fan forever  :rock

aahh..the famous ford recall. had he had the recall done, perhaps that wouldn't have happened. i had it done to our entire fleet here in nj wing. we've got 14 vans and a bronco. and we just got a brand new expedition.
of those vans, one is a chevy, one is a chevy mini van, and we have a town and country(2010). of all of these, everyone's afraid to drive the dodge. the chevy minivan rattles its brains out. the full size chevy is ok. not a single problem with the fords. even the 94 bronco.

i'd like to know, what the hell he did to start his truck on fire?

ford f-series trucks and e series vans from 94 to 2004 had a recall for cruise control wiring. there was a problem with the routing, and with the cruise control staying on, even though the vehicle was off.
this caused the wire harness to overheat. this harness was up against the master cylinder reservoir, which as on most vehicles today is plastic. it melted the reservoir, the brake fluid ignited, and burned the truck down.

the fix was simple, and could be done in about 10 minutes.
