Funny things, lets tell your stories

  It was 1 of those rare FSO's with a second life in GVs.  I notice an enemy GV flanking a squaddie so I tell him whats happening but I can see that the enemy will kill him before he can rotate his turret for a shot so I go ahead and fire and kill the enemy.Now just as I'm on vox to tell the squaddie he's safe for now,BANG I'm in the tower.

   My squaddie had got off a shot but he was aimed at me!  All I could do was laugh.

Squaddies and I running around in 262s on a lark.  Lo, a formation of buffs appears.  I am diving in from the side, doing ludicrous speed...  Just as I pull the trigger, I watch a 262 slowly come up from below my nose into my line of sight...  *BOOM* into the tower I go.

One FSO, my squad is assigned 109K4's.  None of us have a lot of experience in this plane, at the time I needed to fly it 'execution style' to get any kills, put the barrel to the back of his head and pull the trigger.  We happen upon some Spitfires, I saddle up on one, he's not maneuvering hard, I get in close and am just getting ready to pull the trigger when BOOM into the tower I go.  Saved the film and grumpily logged off.  Next morning, I am reading the FSO log and see that my wingman killed me.  I pull up the film in film viewer and go to the end...  It shows him opening up on the spitfire from 600 yards out, with a great lead if he was using .50s at 400 yards.  Instead, he tatered me in the cockpit.

First FSO I ever flew, we were escorting bombers to an enemy airfield.  During the engagement I wound up getting pilot wounded.  I limped the aircraft back to home base, passing out more and more frequently as I went.  I wound up blacking out just as I bounced the wheels off the tarmac the first time, then the second time I hit while I was blacked out, landing gear broke.  The plane rolled over and over as I came out of blackout, wound up skidding to a stop upside down, everything having fallen off the plane except the cockpit sitting in the middle of the runway laughing like a hyena.  I sat back in my chair and sighed at having made it home in one piece.  As I was reaching to type .ef, the screen went red and I died of the pilot wound.

I'm pretty sure I was the "wingman" Wiley referred to which he describes above ^^^^^.  I get him killed more than the enemies.  I'm still thinking about what I am going to post because I have done so many stupid things.  I'm trying to think of one that I only did once, but I seem to repeat my stupidity.  I guess it was the first week I played, landing a couple kills I see a friendly bomber landing too but there is another bomber, right there with him.  I call out "watch it, you got another bomber trying to vulch you"..no answer..........."I'll get him..".  Then I shot his AI and was dead.

In an intense turn fight and join plane window pops up....can't click on it unless you bring the clipboard up to bring up the mouse arrow to click the "do not join" and still have to undo clipboard. All this while still turn fighting, needless to say the ground won lol

Open doors, line up on VH and calibrate.  Cons near, no real danger but keep my attention JUST enough.  Drop!   Salvo set for hitting a CV...


Another one...  When I had JUST started playing AH.  Someone called out for troops, so I upped an M3 and started on my way....for a 4 1/2 sector drive.

I was on a nice kill streak in a Tempest and then surfinn started PMing me, raging about someone in my squad killing him on the other side of the map

we had a nice chat and I got so caught up with talking to him I ran out of fuel and ended up ditching

Up a 262 to chase some arrogant Arado prettythang who has been gallivanting all over our territory.  Fly a 3 sector intercept vector to make sure I have enough alt at the merge.  Finally get eyeballs on him.  He's at my 10 o'clock, about 5000 feet below and 2 miles out.  Point the nose down on a decent intercept, move the stick a bit to correct, and the buffeting starts.  Crap!  Go screaming past the Arado within 500 yards and spend the remaining 10000 feet of my altitude fruitlessly trying not lawn dart.

Hope he got a nice laugh out of that.

Got sauced up 1 night and took 262 after 262 up and killshot myself on AKAK. When I logged on the next day I had no perks left.

Why the 262 you ask? Because it takes to long in anything else to fly to 40k

A spur of the moment Val fighter sweep.  We ended up finding a batch of Lancasters and managed, with much silliness, to shoot them all down

Bunch of squaddies and I took down the VH and de acked a feild only so we can fly through the hangars. One wirble was up smoking just watching us the whole time

I had a nice killstreak going in a P47M , was heading home to land 6 kills and set myself on auto pilot so I could see if a buddy was online and brag to him. Right as I typed "Guess what!" To him, I crashed  into the side of a mountain...

Got the Top Fighter Score one week in FSO with 9 kills.

Unfortunatley 8 of them were squadies that died when i accidently dumped my ord on the runway just when the fields opened  




Another FSO story....after a long and hard fought B26 sortie with the squadies, were sitting on the rearm pad for another run..All of a sudden someone screams 262!!!! TOWER OUT!!!!...here we are, deer in the headlights looking around saying "Wheres the 262?"..a second later FILTH comes screaming in in his 262 and vultches the rearm............. BLAM !!......oh the horror!! As i sat in stunned silence in the tower with my squad, off in the distance, we swore we heard the faint giggling of a man over the sound of a hairdryer.

Aaah the first time I took up a 262... was literally every single perk I had, which at the time seemed like it took an eternity to build up. Climbed with a squaddie to probably 30K or so, maybe higher chasing 4 sets of B17's in a tight formation, watched my squaddie make a pass, lose a stab and get smoked, so after climbing to these buffs for 20 minutes I didn't even make a pass, so we both decided lets just go home, and try again some other time.... So...about 5 minutes later, cruising at 500 mph, 20-25K all of the sudden I hear BOOOM... CV puffy ack going off everywhere, me and my squaddie try to dive, get down to about 10-15K, 500-600mph when we enter a massive furball, he went in for a kill, but before I could make a choice poof, first puffy ack ping flames me, Im out... So as I sit and pout about my 200+ perk loss.. I suddenly hear a loud screaming over vox "IM IN A !@#$%^ FLAT SPIN HOW DO I GET OUT HOW DO I GET OUT!!!!@#$%^&" "YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME 10 !@#$%^ING GUYS CAME IN AND RAPED MY 262 IN A FLAT SPIN!!! WHY!!!" ... did I mention my squaddie didnt take death very well? Especially not in a jet.... then he went off on a rage for about 10 minutes, while I turned down my volume and tabbed in and out of game waiting for him to finish...
