dunno if this has been put up or not before.........

we have a TON of collective automotive knowledge on this bbs. enough that i think it may warrant it's own forum in here, for anything from just general automotive chat, right down to automotive advice.

there's a lot of us that don't mind....and even enjoy trying to help out fellow ah gamers with their cars, and having a forum for just that seems to be a good idea.

 what say you all?

I'm a bit of a shade-tree mechanic.  I'd like to have a forum like that to bounce some questions off the experts here on AH.
So, +1

I don't really think HTC wants to have a thousand sub forums as they have stated in the past...it would be neat, but if you give 1 subforum requests will be pouring in for many others.

I agree with this point, however all I ever see is knowledgeable people on this topic helping other players of this community with advice, constructive suggestion and the benefit of their experience which is genuinely helpful to all and in the long run helps save people money and time. It's a great thing and probably more directly useful / beneficial than the AH classified section.

Trust me, I +1 this. I think the only way to do this and be organized is to create a main forum and each subforum under it. I don't know if they will go for it, however. Possibly if they gave certain people forum-specific moderator privileges, but I know they like to do things in house.

you ever googled a simple problem? you find much more wrong stuff than right stuff.  i think that most of the people in here that ask advice know that there's about a half dozen of us that they can trust.

i also work on cars all day, 6 days a week.......but there's a difference. helping people with this stuff is enjoyable....to me at least.

I think it would be a liability issue for HTC to have a there dedicated to auto repair. In a sense, they look like they approve the advice given by opening the bbs section for it. That's why I don't think you will see a thread for auto repair or anything else out side of the game for that matter. They try very hard not to even make "recommendations" for things outside the game  like computer parts and such. All to avoid someone coming back them with "well someone at HTC said that's what I should do!"
