I don't think so. That looks very much like an F/A-18 that zooms past after impact. If so, problematic as the IDF does not operate the Hornet. Maybe it isn't a Hornet. Maybe it was a joint mission with the US, Spain or Switzerland (three operators of Hornets in region.) Or, maybe it was actually a US test at White Sands or somewhere in the US and was posted as an Israeli test for propaganda purposes.

Thoughts or corrections?

Looked to me like an IDF F-16. I say this because it didn't appear to have the dual vertical stabilizers.

What interests me the most is where the drone may have come from. With the way our government has been treating the Jews lately, this would be a black eye if it was found to be American. My guess is that it was either a very low-tech model being flown by Hezbollah or one of it's allies, or it is an American model being used to keep tabs on the area.

I may have missed it, but where exactly did the shoot-down take place?

plane was a f16i out of ramon ab in the south, most clues so far point to hizballah as an iranian test of aerial detections systems

According to a Ynet report it was downed around Yatir Forest, which is approximately between Hebron and Beer Sheva.

It likely came from Lebanon over the med sea, but these are not the known Hizballah drones that the IAF shot down in 2006. Communicating with a drone at these distances require more than standard equipment, which means that either it was autonomous on a per-designated route, or that a larger player (starts with "I", ends with "n", and is not "Irelandn" or "Iraqn") was involved with more sophisticated means.

The IAF is all dressed up with no where to go since an attack on Iran is not likely in the immediate future. It is a bad time to poke it unless Hizballah wants to bring ruin to Lebanon all over again. When the bombs are already attached to the planes, the pilots are eager to use them on something, not to put them back in the ammo bunker.

Hizballah is Iran's long arm and its only way to effectively hurt Israel. However, Hizballah are Lebanese and they need to appear to the Lebanese people as the defenders and not the aggressors if they are about to bring ruin to their country. Therefore they need to poke at Israel in order to invoke a retaliation that can be escalated. Once that is accomplished, they are ready to assist Iran.
