oldies

Been away for a long time and just casually searched for nicks I remember...

Some of you I remember, but did the the iconic lala driver shane leave in 2006?

And in case anyone actually remembers me, hi!

edit: nvm about shane, just saw his recent post in the mugshot thread... You still fly, shane?

I remember you, I use to fly under the name MDJOE with the 444th Air Mafia for years.

Shane was back for a while not to long ago. His last posted score was April this year. A lot of the old timers check in and then leave again. Too many people playing the game for the "win" in stead of fighting for it. Makes it a bit boring chasing runners or dodging the hordes.

Good to hear from you again! <S>

On the other hand...

I logged in to find one of our V-bases shut down and under imminent threat of capture. Several of us waited while a couple lone defenders held off the onslaught. As guns and hangars popped we charged to the attack and drove off the enemy. We then spawned en-mass and had a brutal firefight at the spawn, which resulted in us breaking the camp and advancing on the enemies V-base across the valley. Under intense enemy fire we advanced and took our hard fought prize.

After that I found a friendly CV parked off of an enemy base. I lifted in my trusty F4F-4 and took part in a massive furball that included aircraft of every type. Rounds of all calibers, shrapnel, airplane and body parts littered the sky as I jinked my aircraft this way and that in hopes of downing an enemy before they hit me. I won some and I lost some.

All in all, I logged off with the firm belief that I had gotten far more than $0.50 worth of entertainment today.

I highly recommend you consider coming in and seeing your old buddies. Who knows, you may make a few new friends and have some worthwhile adventure along the way.

Everyone needs an excuse to explain why I shot them down.  I guess it helps relieve the pain of being outflown by a P-38J.

The most defensive folks have their clever "FAIL" retorts very handy...lol
