Why? You don't need to know that to bomb accurately, or to test anything that I can think of. Otherwise, your in-cockpit dial tells you your alt.

I don't think that is needed. Altimeters do just fine, and the bombsight has that info in the upper left. The game's E6B is the best effort to approximate (and dumb down for playability) the real thing.

Agreed.  As stated before, the bombers position has all the information needed.  It not only shows your calibrated speed & altitude, but also your true   speed & altitude.

why would an e6b show altitudes?

and why wouldn't you just look at your altimeter?

Well why would it show climb rate and fuel flow/ac weight?  You can look at your gauges and see your climb rate, there is not a gauge in the cockpit to show your AC weight and many (most) AC don't have a fuel flow gauge.  You look at your specific AC power charts to estimate your fuel flow at various power settings.

Our E6B is an approximation at best.  We have climb rate we might as well have altitude.

I would find it useful when flying buffs.  I go to the clipboard to look at the map and chose/change routes while in flight.  I compare where I want to go with my current fuel flow/duration as reported int the E6B.  I can see my climb rate and it would be handy to see my current altitude while I am weighing various ideas about where I am going and how I am going to get there.

Climb rate is there for sink/climb for testing purposes, I believe. Weight was not there for a long time. It finally was added as a diagnostic tool when recreating certain circumstances and for player testing needs.

That's not so much replicating function of a real E6B, but more a gameplay consideration for a computer game.

I'm not seeing a compelling reason NOT to have alt in the e6b. It has ROC i don't see the logic of having that. Since there are no real performance charts it might be nice to be able to have all the flight information in text form so that you wouldn't have to squint when trying to make your own. Not exactly a priority but on its own a nice feature.
