The R/T badge in the grill tells you it has a hemi... a 5.7l hemi

Gray... how would a couple car seats fit in the back seat? I've been eying the challengers more and more ever since your other thread. But with a 2 year old son and a baby on the way I wonder how big of a PITA it would be to get them in and out of the back seat.

2-door car with kids = PITA.  No question about it no matter how huge those doors are.  Wait until the first time you try loading your kids in through the window because people parked too close on both sides and you can't get the kids in through the open door...  Been there done that   :furious  :bhead , sold the firebird   :cry  and bought a G8 (really a 4-door firebird with an australian accent)   :rock
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Get a Charger if you need 4 doors, it's the same chassis.  Just like a G8 and a Camaro, except they killed the G8 :cry

Beautiful car.

Was looking at one, but my credit history isn't long enough.  :(
Tested or just what you think?

Somehow, I had a good credit score coming out of Highschool. When I started looking for my car, we thought I wouldn't have any credit, but when the first dealer ran a report I had a great score for someone my age. Non of us could figure out how or where it came from though lol.

Nice car! At first I didn't really like them, but they seem to be growing on me. However, I would still take a mustang first. Is it pure red or are there accents?

On the color: it's the 3-coat pearl redline color ..has a definite metallic component and a bit of pearl accent where the sun hits it.

On back seat: It's gonna be a hassle with any 2 door gettin kids in an out ..the room is there though unless you and your wife are 6' or more.
(it's a wide back seat, had 3 teenage grandkids back there and my son-in-law in passenger seat when we let the smoke out of the back tars for laffs, off a stoplight :)
Once the kids are old enough that you can just point and say 'get in' ..yer golden :)

Tellin ya .. ima get arrested in this beast ..it's too much FUN :D

On 'hemi' badges ..there's two on the hood.
Thinkin of adding one along with the R/T sticker on the spoiler in back also.

thats a sharp ride :aok :rock but got a question for you.  Me and an ex coworker have seen quite a few new muscle cars and when they go by us on the interstate, we couldnt hear them.  Gotta have the rumble in my opinion. so back to my question does she sound as sexy as it looks?

Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

To me, the car looks best in red......congratulations.

Despite the awesome color, the challenger was no match for "Gadge Zoomer" in "the great car wrestling match" held in 1967.

re: how they sound .. they are more quiet than a church mouse stock. Pitiful.

However ..you can remove the mufflers *and* the resonators ..one pair at a time .. to setup the sound you want.
Tons of youtube video's to listen to and it doesn't cost anywhere near as much as a cat back system for a Vette.

ie: muffler shop can swap in some straight pipes for the mufflers or resonators .. ~50 bucks.
Turbo muffler replacements for that classic rumbly sound from Thrush .. $27 ea from Summit Racing.
Vette cat back from B&B ~$1100 ...system plus install.

Heck people are even puttin Cherry Bomb glass packs on 'em :)

It's *wonderful* to be out from under the 'Vette' Tax!

Cut the muffler(S) out of the midpipes, but leave the ones at the back intact.  I had a Magnum Hemi R/T and that mod was done for $129.  The sound was pretty nice: throaty but not too loud.  Do that first before spending $$$ on a catback.

The only drawback is when cruising in 5th gear, the cylinder deactivation causes a minor drone sound.  Wasn't too bad with my setup but the louder your mufflers, the worse the drone will be.  There might be an electronic workaround for that though.

cherry bombs will sound good. with cats still in place, they won't be obnoxiously loud, but they'll still have that classic sound they're known for. i almost went for something like that on my car, but to be honest, i don't want anything that loud anymore.

The new Caddy's are awesome cars .. they also cost about twice what the Challenger R/T does (60k range)

And aye .. was thinkin removin the mufflers first because that looks like the easiest to do for a muffler shop..
..then workin from there if it's not animal enough :)

In the 'interesting bits' that pop up now an then ..

Went over and started perusing the Challenger web site (ChallengerZ or some such)
..met a few of the Arizona crazies at the Pavillions who post there ..
..
..
..then got a PM on the website .. from Soup no less.

Soup from AW lives in Phx Metro area and has a Maggie-blown Challenger.
Ima hafta harass him for a ride in that beast .. soon :)

Man I haven't seen him since the Bop-Con when he got his new Mustang stolen.
Same Bop-Con I hammered Hardrock in a Zeke duel after he won the tournament there -evil grin-

Nice ride! I prefer the blackberry pearl and blue streak pearl ones, personally. But it's a piece of art no matter what color you choose. :aok

Link finally worked for me.

You sure that thing has a hemi?  No hemi badges and the black stripe is only on the hood...  ?

The Black stripes make the car ugly IMO.   Every one here has em, I prefer the "Decal Delete" package on them as I find it enhances the look of it.    I see badges on the hood.
