Not true.  If both players are in Spitfires it becomes clear who is better.

Better and good aren't the same thing .

You can be good in a spitfire, and still be the worst spitfire pilot in the game.

Spit IX spanks them all   or finds the KI constantly resetting the fight.  Ask Midway, lol

I don't remember ever losing to a Ki-84 in any Spit except by being picked although I do recall a couple of losses to Ki-61's.

Which leads to my experience that Ki-61 > Ki-84, at least in my hands.
