Fire that guy!

One of those nights.  I thought I had a couple scalps but the log gods said otherwise.  Was lucky to even get home last night.  The 11th had a tough escort mission in 109G-6's into the city in 13/14/2.  Spit's of both marks were everywhere.  It was a swirling tempest at all altitudes, and more than once, I thought my goose was cooked.  On approach to rearm those of us left were on fumes, I mean...those kind of fumes where if you increase rpm to evade or fight you will run out of fuel.  Spits came in to vultch us, and I barely towered out as enemy rounds spit up the pavement around me. I believe in the end we gave better quite a bit than we got.  The CHawk 88's pounded the target City. Hopper had an outstanding night with 7 Spits destroyed.

A very fun frame.

You hung on like a rabid dog.  <S>  For a moment there I thought I was done for.

One of many well fought engagements last night.
