Looking to get back into the game, need some advice
« on: February 09, 2013, 01:48:32 PM »
Hello everyone! Don't know who remembers me as I have been AWOL for quite some time but I'm about to get a new computer and I was hoping for some advice. So what would you guys recommend that I get for a joystick and headset? Looking to get some good stuff because when I was playing before I just had an AV8R and a cheap headset. Thanks for the help!  :salute

Definitely need a joystick for AH.

TM HOTAS Warthog is $500 but definitely worth it if you can afford it. I personally can't, so I got myself a cheapo $30 Saitek Cyborg V1. Works great, so far for the past 3 years.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Don't think I'll be spending $500 on a stick haha. I've heard a lot about the X-52 and the CH Fighterstick though, how are those?

I've got the CH setup and have no complaints.  Have had it for approximately 9 yrs.  The fighterstick had a hat switch go buggy and I was in a position that I could buy another one.  When I got the new one I sent the old one back and had it repaired.  Had it back in 8 days.  I don't think you can go wrong with CH products.  BLT280

I thought I would add an alternative path.  Another way to go is spend less money on a joystick then invest in a TrackIR.

As far as headsets go, I use a headset with mic  I got from walmart for under 20 bucks and it works fine so just about anything will work.  More money better headset as you know.
