I'm sure the I-16 pilot was wondering where the hits where coming from since Rule 7-6 states that using your 45 to shoot at enemy aircraft is not allowed and could -- do I dare type it? -- result in a suspension.

Actually, I was the I-16 on fumes that landed at an enemy capped field after no less than six 109Fs tried to take me down (throughout the frame) and the best they could do was relieve me of my right elevator. I towered with an inbound inside 1K my six.

Glad you weren't shot down by ack and you made it back home.

I'm guilty of that too, we found out about that rule last FSO. Not towering when we bail is a rule breaker too. I busted out laughing when I realized what you did. It's all good though Moles, crazy mofo.

I think the rules can be suspended in the face of some fine pistol work!      I was bingo and winchester.  I could almost taste the after-mission brandy when ... CLANG!  I got on the radio and my squaddies probably thought I'd already had my after-mission brandy.      But I never saw Molsman.
