alright, bought a new box, even though my old one was doing fine.. was running mostly pegged at 60fps with everything off except detailed water... quite playable.. that was a $500 dell with an NVidia card (I think was the GT220) in it bought back in 2009..
so, I get new machine now, now a $700 dell, with an Nvidia card in it..  this should be at least twice as powerful, I'd expect.  yet, I'm still pretty much pegged at 60fps, 256 textures, only detailed water on.
I don't know if i'm just overlooking some setting, or I should just go back to building my own pc's like I used to. (I suspect the gt620 is no so good)
