Hmmmm.... 10...

Rainer Maria
the Velvet Underground
Bob Dylan
Snowing
American Football
Modest Mouse
the Beatles
Built to Spill
Neutral Milk Hotel
My Bloody Valentine

Jeez, that's 10 already  :lol

Metal's harder... Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden are the only two metal bands that I guess I can really say I still really like anymore... listen to some other metal music here and there but not super into any of it

I grew up listening to Flotsam and Jetsam and liked them for a long time.
It sucks when bands' attitudes will actually negatively affect my opinion of their music.
My band was on the roster with them when they rolled through town.
The local bands printed all the flyers ourselves, did radio commercials, sold all the tickets.
It was a huge success until Flotsam and Jetsam showed up (they were the headliner) 30 min. before they were to go on
with no gear, and proceeded to talk smack about all the other bands. They played by borrowing all my bands gear, (they brought guitars only)
convinced the promoter to give them all the cash, then took off to do a tour in Japan. Promoter got a broken nose and never promoted again
in this city.

Opening for Fear factory was completely the opposite, but that was in a larger venue about 200 miles away. They treated us great. I was kind "meh"
about their music till then, but I came around after that experience and listen to them all the time now.

oh man......dont say that......love Flotsam :(

This band changed my life.
I was introduced to them at a show in New Orleans when I was 15.
A friend and I hitchhiked to N.O.L.A. from Gulfport Miss. To see them and some other bands.
They are so versatile and have such a good singer.
I wish they were still around.

Shortly after I saw them they disbanded after the bass player was killed in a car accident after only 2 albums.

I could say the same about 4 of the bands you listed.

Please indulge and name the four bands.  I am curious.

flotsam and jetsam eh, to each his own.

led zeppelin as much as i enjoy the music, they were the greatest at covering their cover of other work (mod a tune add some lyrics).

godsmack definitely suxxorz

metallica, same crap...over and over and over and over and...over

As for Zeppelin, I hold nothing against them.

Metallica pre-Black albu is far from your "description".

i can't believe you hitch hiked from gulfport. the bus wasn't but $20 or something like that...

They were local to NOLA. I think I may have seen em at the Dixie Tavern, not 100% on that though, since that time frame was kind of a blur.
We made quick decision to go once we saw a flier. We each prolly only had 10 bucks on us and a bottle of whiskey. The dude I was hangin out with
was a few years older and was more familiar with the area and music scene than I was, since I had already been living in AZ since I was 10. Luckily we
saw a Gulfport native at the show and got a ride straight back, since we were very sauced.
Back here in Tucson AZ, Acid Bath pretty much has a cult following amongst the local music scene.

sounds like one of my cousins...pretty typical of the backwoods boys to not have 2 nickels but there was always a bottle of booze around.  :lol you guys must have started out pretty early in the day, 90 minute drive with traffic but, hitchin could take days...especially in hancock county.

acid bath sounds a lot like another band...i'll have to dig through my collection and see if i can find it.

No War from your end.   One good member of those four?   You negate anything with the mention of those two bands.    :rofl     Even the crappy, current Metallica kicks those two bands around the room all day long.
