system: pwnage confirmed
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Hey, they were in 3 hours! What means: he upped a 262, took like 40 mins to get to alt, and suddenly, he just ran into some bombers what are almost as fast as he is. Kiled poor TWCscotty, landed. Then instantly upped again, took 40 mins to climb up to 36k, and all by accident, ran into wd39 in his B29s. That poor fella never had a chance to fire his guns - he might have been afk.

I dont have proof on this. But since the B29 can go amost as fast as a 262 up there, also the 262 does not have the climb rate advantage to attack from above, he must have been flying in from an angle what was close to what we call a "dead six". Also, we all know what a B29 set can do with anything in his dead six... thats why i guess, they must have been afk, or some really, i mean really poor gunners.

Errr no.

No doubt the 262 is a pig at extremely high altitudes by any means. But The B-29 is never anywhere near to being "as fast as a 262", at any alt. The main problem for the 262 is the lack climb rate and the bad maneuverability.
You have to set up your attack very careful and with only minor course corrections, your will lose altitude and/or will fall behind again. But it can be done, if you are patient enough and plan ahead. And you don't have to attack from 6 o clock. Of course, as most fighter pilots in the MA lack the patience to set up a proper attack on bombers even at low altitudes, it doesn't happen often

But it is doable. At least vs the standard AH bomber pilot. Been there, done that. Of course, if having to choose I would take the 262 only up to 28-30k, above 30K I'd take the Ta 152H.

what is a proper attack on bombers...say even if 999 is in them....(honest question )

I don't attack from 6 often...but it seems no matter what I do I get killed by bombers...thats why I have very few bomber kills and most often just leave them alone.

I have never said "as fast", only "almost as fast". Once i upped a set, when the Grinder map was new and i was in the KN. Bombed the bish strats at 30k, but on the way back, got caught by 3 163s, true, not at once but one after another. Shot 2 of them down while the 3rd one ran out of fuel and was forced to land - and im a really awful gunner. That damn B29 does like 380-390mph up there when its light, only 110mph slower than the 262. Whats the jets real disadvantage up there, the low mach-speed, its flyable speed zone is much narrower than at low altitudes. It makes tha attack really difficult and predictable, even if the hunter has some alttude over the bomber.

Or just i dont know how to attack a high bomber when i cant arrive from above, near the 3-9 line  :)

Basically any that avoids ending up on the bomber's six. There are several variants depending much on plane & personal preference.
I very much prefer swopping down on the bomber from 1-3  o'clock. High speed pass, aim for cockpit/wingroots, extend fast on the other side, climb up, rinse & repeat. This is also the kind of attack giving me the most problems as a bomber gunner as well: Very fast closure speed, difficult orientation, having to track rapidly changing angles.

Other buff hunters prefer the straight down overhad attack or the plain ole frontal attack.

You don't have to be above. When facing very fast & high 29s in my 262, I often resort to fast 1-3 o clock attacks from below instead of above. The 262 is fast enough to do this, and it's (under these particular circumstances) easier to set up than the sweeping attack from above.

Of course, it's still difficult, requires alot of good timing and patience and does occasionally end up in disaster  :D

One thing I totally forgot:

The frontal quarter attack from below on the B-29s is also highly recommended at lower altitudes in a 262. Why? Because of the dreaded frontal top turret with 4x0.50 cal guns instead of 2x, which you would fly directly into.

Wait a second... found one more screenie... see how insanely abusive i was  :rofl
Dear, you caught on a lie again  :rofl  Heres your cake:
(Image removed from quote.)
Also, there is a cheating accousation on the bottom.

Even more, checking the stats, you havent killed a single B29 this tour. 4 in last month (not 5 in 2 hours yesterday as you have stated), and 2 in July. OOPS
Even more, i clearly said "TA", because i knew that the 262 is disabled in the DA. We did not go to the DA as you said and we did not go migrated to the TA as you said.
Even more, there wasnt a word typed about sea level start - until i found a 20k field to shorten down the climbing time.
Even more, you said, you have more experience in the 262 than most. That might be even true as really only a few are flying the jet, and most just go home withouth a kill. But you have 0 kills in it this tour, 0 before that, 0 in july, 23 in june, 0 in May, 3 in April. Looking up a random month further back (2012 September), it says, 0. In the same month, i had 136 kills and 4 deaths, and that was the month when i came back after my summer break. In the next month, i had 144 kills vs 6 death. Still not 150, but my real jetdweeb period was way back earlyer. You can say that i was a jet dweeb - i was - , but if you arent harrassing the horde in that jet, you will not get this many scalps. Fact.

Dude, i dont have to prove anything. Everyone knows im insane. But now its time to laugh on ... (wait for it) ... YOU  :aok   :rofl

I said I have less experience than most in the jet with probably less than 12 times ever having flown it.

My meaning is that even with only a few mission in a jet, I have more experience over 30,000 in the 262 than most anybody else because all but 1 mission were over 30,000 feet.

No lies but I did make a joking reference to the huge amount of "banned for cheating" chatter that was floating around channel 200 a couple of months ago.

I have no idea what inspired the "banned for cheating" wall of text that paraded through the buffer back then but I made a bad joke about it.
